Reviews
The crab rangoon, pad Lao, and sai gok were absolutely amazing. The nem khao wasn’t really my taste, but it was still good and worth trying for the experience.
The servers were super nice (and pretty!) and literally called me a baddie — so obviously service = 10/10
I’ll definitely be back for the lunch specials
The food was rather delicious and very unique flavourings. The meat was delicious! I told them to make it authentic spice level and it surprised me how spicy it was but still very delicious.
The service was super slow. We got seated right away and the restuarant was about half full. It took at least 40 minutes for our meal after we ordered, and another 20 for dessert. Overall almost 2 hours just to eat dinner. Our waiter was friendly, except we barely saw him. It was the bartender (?) that made the rounds making sure we were okay. Wasn’t impressed at all about the slow service given the restaurant wasn’t full.
Amazing food I would recommend a dish but literally everything I’ve tried is 10/10. Everything was packed with flavor and was a great portion size.
Service was good and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great.
We ordered the Spring Rolls ($13) to start. These come with minced pork and are tightly packed. We also ordered the Green Curry Chicken ($21) which comes with rice. This was a huge dish. Flavours were a bit sweet but tasty. Speaking of huge dishes, the Pad Thai with Prawns ($21 + $2) was a literal mountain of noodles.
We also ordered the Chicken Satay ($15) as an appy but it took quite a while to come out (we were almost finished eating when it came out). I found the chicken satay to be quite dry and tough to eat. The main dishes were better than the appies
Also got some drinks on the form of Thai Cream Soda ($7) green and Passion Iced Tea ($7).
Next time we visit, we’d like to try some Laotian dishes.
We came in for dinner yesterday after deciding between Ban Chok Dee and Naka, and settling here as we wanted to try a new place.
2 major complaints:
First, from ordering to getting our food. It took more than 30 minutes. This feels like a really long time considering it was during prime dinner time (we arrived around 6:40 PM). During which a bug flew into our water.
Secondly, the food doesn’t taste all that different from mall Thai food. The $15 chicken satay was dry and lacking flavour. The $23 Crying Tiger dish came with a serving of sticky rice that was heated up in a plastic bag? It felt like the bag was half melted, and the sticky rice unevenly heated and very hard.
The $21 pad Thai was the only okay dish we ordered. It’s hard to mess up this classic but it’s nothing special. The dish felt like it was siting for a long time. Dry noodles with sauce and the whole thing was stuck together. I almost feel like it was microwaved. The taste is on the sweeter side. And because of it was so stuck together I had no luck mixing in the bean sprouts on top. I’ll say it’s a generous portion with a good amount of protein. But it just isn’t anything I’d get again.
Overall, it’s been a disappointing experience and I would recommend trying somewhere else if you were craving Thai food.
