Me and my son went for dinner!! It was our 1st time, we absolutely loved it!!! My husband and I always walk by, but had never been. The next time, I’m taking him inside to eat, he would love it!!
I had the Spicy Miso Soup and my son had the vegetable Miso soup and we had the Kanage chicken, Japanese style fried chicken and the pot stickers. Everything was very good!! Can’t wait to go back! Our server, He was great and very friendly.

I’m struggling a bit for the rating for this Ramen place. On one hand, the food is really great given this small college town (5-star worthy); on the other hand , is it the best ramen I have ever had? Definitely not. So, I ended up giving a 4-star overall and 5-star for the food, and leaving just the atmosphere as a 4-star to justify the overall 4-star rating.

Food was great, authentic and generously portioned. Service was great and the waitress was super nice and courteous.

Will we be back again? Yes, if we are visiting here next time.

Second time eating here, just as good as the first time. I got the Salmon Roe bowl both times and loved it. My husband has done different noodles and enjoyed them. My son gets noodles and pork broth.

We were in the area for a college visit and ended up looking for a late lunch. Nested in quiet college town, Menkoi Ya was a good find. Comfortable settling and easy to get in and out.
Ramen broth was decent but a bit lacking in depth. The servers were pleasant and to the point.

First time here and it was really nice. The food was great and it’s a great place for a date or to catch up with friends. I’m only giving 4 stars because I had to wait a bit longer for my food to be brought out than my husband’s. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family

I finally tried Menkoi Ya Ramen in Claremont after passing by a few times, and it didn’t disappoint! We arrived around 6 PM on a Tuesday, and though it was busy, our friend had saved us a table.

Appetizers

• Fried Gyoza (4.2/5): Crispy and satisfying.
• Takoyaki (4.6/5): Hot, flavorful, and loaded with bonito flakes.

Ramen

• Menkoi (4.4/5): Rich pork broth with five slices of chashu.
• Menkoi Chashu (4.6/5): Same great broth but with ten chashu slices.
• Chashu Spicy Miso (4.6/5): Deep, spicy flavor with three chashu slices.
• Tonkotsu Kotteri (4.6/5): Intense broth with black garlic oil; slightly salty but delicious.

Service was quick and attentive, and the cozy interior has a classic ramen shop vibe. Parking and signage could be better, but overall, a great experience. Can’t wait to return!

The appetizers stole the show.
The Aburi Chashu Plate was AMAZING and i’ll probably be back just to have it again.
The Chicken Karaage was crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Their noodles were cooked to perfection and the broth was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I have visited this establishment, in the middle of May 2022. The meal, that I have ordered was delicious, and well-made. It was a ramen noodle soup. Of course, the place was packed, since it was a Friday evening. However, the wait time to get seated was not long. The prices were not on the expensive side, despite this inflation. Furthermore, the staff members were helpful, courteous, polite, and friendly. So definitely, I would recommend a visit to this establishment. Of course, I would not recommend on a weekend, since it does get packed. Before finishing my review, I have one tip – wear a face mask. Without this face mask, they will ask a potential patron to leave the establishment.
