Went here for the 4th of July 2024. They had a couple blocks shut down so people could light fireworks. Then they had a local guy light off a bunch. Best fireworks show I’ve seen in a long time!! Better than some professional ones I’ve gone to!! Definitely recommend Max’s bar in Thayer, NE. for fourth of July celebrations. They also serve food and drinks. Had a bunch of free food for the Fourth of July party. Great time in a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere. Great people, good food, good times for anyone looking for a small town bar.

Friendly outgoing, hole in the wall cozy bar! They treat you like family, make sure your happy with your drinks. Free music free pool and very well poured drinks…living in a big city and now a small town I’d say this is the best bar customer service I’ve ever had!!! Been back many times and will continue to go to Max’s !!! I could talk all day about how amazing these people are but go and find out for yourself how amazing this bar is!!!

I was traveling to Colorado. Stop in York for the night. I look up Bars near me. It was about 10 miles. Well worth It. Had some beers and met some of the finest people in America. They welcomed us and had some great conversation and lots of laughs. Farmers the hardest workers in the country. So don’t just drive by. Stop in a small town. You will be surprised like I was.
