I’ve never had Indian food before tonight but Ekta wasn’t bad to try out. I had the vegetarian samosa and the butter chicken The food was delicious and the waiter came back to check on me and my friend the entire time. He was super friendly and polite. I know I’m going to keep coming back to Ekta.

I think I just found my new favorite Indian restaurant in Philly!
I love a umami-sweet chicken Tikka masala and it was PERFECT, it’s exactly what I wanted/like. The only thing is there wasn’t much chicken but it was still really really good. I also got the garlic naan and it was great! Would highly recommend recommend I will be back!!

I absolutely LOVE the Indian food here and the staff are friendly/kind. I’ve been going here for years and I love their butter chicken.
Fair warning, if you ask for spicy….you’re going to get SPICY. Loll, they don’t play with the flavor.
I get my butter chicken at no spicy or Mild. Both are delicious.

Food very good. Only problem I had was asked for hot Nan and when it came it was not. Indian food need to have piping hot nan. If they brought food hot food first and went back and brought nan after 1 minutes will.make this meal 5 start.

The service is wonderful but it’s hard to enjoy the experience when the food is subpar. There are bold flavors in the dishes but nothing like what you would expect of the dish you order. Also why is there no difference between the Samosa Chaat and the Aloo Chaat? You have samosas in the restaurant, so why none in the samosa chaat? And why are both so wet? The biryani was not good, besides the mango lasso nothing tasted like it’s supposed to and overall the experience was disappointing.

I ordered from uber eats last night. Im sure the workers here are nice that’s not in question but the food isn’t good. I’m Indian, I know good Indian food and this ain’t it. This had no flavor, it’s like they cheaped out on spices. The five little chunks of chicken in the tikka masala was overcooked like it had been on a pot all day. It was buy one get one free so that’s probably what happened. The naan was small. To the people in the reviews who’ve never had Indian food and said ‘oh wow Indian food, how amazing’, wait til you find out what good Indian food tastes like. God bless

I ordered the Saag Paneer and was honestly shocked by how it tasted. I’ve had Saag Paneer from many different restaurants, and this one was nowhere close to what it should be. It was overwhelmingly sweet — which completely threw off the flavor — and didn’t taste anything like traditional Saag Paneer.
They seriously need to tone down the sweetness. Also, the dish barely had any actual saag (greens), which is the main ingredient! Even the color was off, which should have been my first clue. Definitely disappointed.

Great variety of vegetarian options for a good price if you know what to order! We’ve ordered delivery and also dined in. The restaurant is comfortable, and the owner is very kind and attentive. This is another one of our favorite Indian restaurants!
If you’re vegetarian, you might want to consider ordering their dal makhani, malai kofta, and/or mango lassi.

1/10/2025 Updates: the first time we ordered Samosas must have been a fluke. Every other time we’ve ordered from Ekta, we’ve gotten the Samosas and have been delicious ever since. This is our go to take out spot for Indian cuisine.
The good:
The Chicken Korma, Chicken Saag and Baingan Bharta we’re delicious and appropriately spiced (both flavor and spicy)
The bad:
Samosas were the worst part of the meal, would not order those again.
They have easy online ordering for both pick up and delivery, great for a take out night!
