Food quality has been really going down here lately. I got a salmon box and the salmon was so thin you can see throught it and not even covering the rice fully. Last time I got the baked salmon appetizer it was 3 scoops of imitation crabmeat with a tiny piece of burnt salmon on top. It was so bad I sent it back to the kitchen. This used to be one of my most reliable sushi places, and I’m seriously questioning going back now.

I came to this sake cafe location with my fiancé for their happy hour special before we went for a date night out on the town. I’ve been going to this location since I was a kid and have never had any issues. Food is always great, but this time our service was abhorrent. Not that it matters to the story, but my partner and I work grueling jobs as a teacher and doctor and we rarely get time together without responsibilities. We really savor our time together and this time it was tainted by our experience. We decided we wanted to take advantage of the happy hour special and my partner ordered three drinks over the course of our meal. Upon ordering her third and last drink of the night the waiter very rudely said “oh my god another one” and scoffed under her breath while she walked away before bringing the third drink. The drink that was brought out this time was half the size of the previous two and tasted as if it had no alcohol in it. Never in the greater New Orleans area have I been made to feel like an alcoholic for participating in a restaurant’s happy hour drink menu. If we aren’t meant to enjoy the drink menu don’t include drink deals in happy hour prices. Safe to say we won’t be back to this location full stop and instead will be going to other restaurant’s where I’m sure the servers will be happy to serve us what we order without judgement or bias.

Sushi happy hour! During the week for early lunch, you can get essentially a sushi, happy hour… Prices were much lower than normal on many of their small rolls.
They have a lot of large rolls too.
The service was nice but a little inconsistent. At some point we had to try to find our waitress to get our tickets so we could leave.

we’ve been to sake many times but it’s been a while so decided to try it out for lunch.
we ordered the shrimp tempura bento box and sushi. the service was average but the timing was quick.
the bento box was large and contained a lot of items including soup, salad with ginger dressing, fried rice, california roll, fresh fruit, and shrimp and vegetable tempura. there’s a lot of food and it was good flavor
overall a good lunch option with lots of options

Coming here for the first time and it was an experience. Here with a group and the server was awesome in keeping track of everyone’s order as well as getting food and drinks to every one.
I had the edamame and vegetable tempura and was satisfied with the portions. It made a meal worthwhile. The atmosphere is cozy no super dark and the sashimi bar looked pretty awesome. I would definitely recommend this place. And I will be back in the future.

One of the absolute best sushi places in Metairie! High ceilings, great sushi chefs, flowing saki, and some absolutely delicious rolls! I couldn’t recommend this place more – get the Long Horn Roll – to die for! Also this is a side recommendation – the calamari here is fresh, hand breaded and UNREAL! Get it…it’s delicious!
