Never again will I eat at the Holt’s in Hartsville. One time I went and got gimacaroni and cheese and the cheese wasn’t even melted and this time the portion of okra that I was given was ridiculous. I have proof and this is separate orders.

The ran out of food after I was told they had the brisket plate instead of my first choice which of course the bbq ribs was sold out so was everything else. I waited for my plate a good 30 minutes then my name was called to be told no brisket plates either. I had to ask for my money back due to no selections. I love holts in Florence.

Got the ribs and brisket. Both were exceptional. I particularly like the fact that the brisket is served in a pint container and shredded. I typically buy by the pound and was surprised that it wasn’t offered by the pound here but by the pint other places, serve me slices of brisket, but I really like getting the shredded and will definitely be back. The flavor was incredible. The rib meat fell right off the bone the way I like it. Will definitely be going back.

Went in 45 minutes before closing, and no surprise they were out of brisket. The menu isn’t visible while you are standing in line. When you get a menu at the register it doesn’t describe the portion sizes, they are big!
We ordered a 5 rib plate and a rib/pulled pork combo. Each came with two sides. Fried okra was good as was the sweet potato casserole. Cole slaw was vinegar style.
We were the only eat in customers, and it took a bit to get our food after the last takeout person got theirs.
The ribs were room temperature, but very tasty with a nice touch of crispy fat and a nice sauce. We wanted a bit more sauce and the counter person said it was their original on the ribs, but the original sauce on the table was like water, vinegary and thin and we tried several bottles.
There’s no table service just a few nice booths, but when I went to refill my tea glass they had taken away the tea in preparation for closing (about 10 minutes before closing time). Same at the counter, nothing to wash down the meal, no apology, no offer of an alternative. So we had to pack up and go.

Sucked both times. They can’t make a order right for nothing. Order chicken tacos without stuff on it that I can’t eat. And it was still on it. Both times. I will not be back. 100%. Waste of money.
