On Monday August 4, 2025 I took my daughter for lunch. When you first walk in you feel like it may be a good southern Mom & Pop buffet experience. When we got to our table the waitress came over, asked what we were drinking, we said 1 coke and 1 water, she said do u want lemon? I said no thank u, and she asked if we had been there before. We responded, no it was our 1st time there. She quickly explained a little bit about what to expect from each bar. We got our plate, went back to table and we had 2 sweet teas with lemon. Not what we ordered but we like tea so we just kept them. The food looked pretty good at first. But as we started eating the food tasted old and nasty. The fried chicken seemed like they had cooked it 2 days prior, then recooked it 2 more times. It was so dry. Then my daughter says “ have u tried the fried fish because it tastes bad, like idk what that taste is” another customer from a different table heard her and he said “PINESOL…. It tastes like PINESOL and soap and cleaner. He also said he told his daughter that if he died it was from that fish. Cabbage and greens were vinegary and kinda tasted like cleaning products & dirt. Meatloaf wasn’t horrible but seemed old. The stew meat was tender but had zero flavor and zero gravy. Rice&gravy was the most decent thing and the tea was ok. The Mac n cheese wasn’t the absolute worst I’ve ever had. Like u can eat it. But it wasn’t good. A fly was in potato salad. Bbq was decent. Green beans decent but no flavor. I could not eat much of it because it was not good overall. I did not go back for 2nds or to try anything different. The banana and Oreo puddings even seemed old. Seen what looked like a bug leg in pudding but could’ve been from bananas but I didn’t see actual bananas in it, so idk….both were Not completely terrible but not good. Cake was dry. Waitress had came back to ask if we wanted refills, I said yes and asked her to switch my daughter’s tea out for the coke she originally ordered. She never brought refills or coke. I don’t see a return visit here in the future. Overall not a good experience.

I have read the negative reviews. It left me wondering if we went to the same place. My one and only time there, was great. I am going back today (2nd visit within one week). Only request would be more desserts selections. Not a major issue because I was stuffed before dessert time. Visit and decide for yourself. No photos. I had jumped into the plate to quickly lol.

Food was okay at best. Chicken cold to warm, as well as some other dishes. Seasoning was dismal . No salad bar available for lunch. Wheelchair accessible. Restroom okay, toilet paper only available in one stall. Staff is friendly.

Food was not good; mashed potatoes were salty, collards were nasty, barely had food available on the bar. Had vegetable soup but no bowls. Chicken was cold. Rice was hard. Plates were only taken off the table once, it wasn’t busy.

A few years back this used to be Really good. Now it’s just another plain restaurant buffet that you shouldn’t expect much from. Same selection everyday. You have the chance of some items being cold. Fried Chicken is very dry now. Only fish choice is Catfish. Fried pork chops have vanished. It’s a shame due to pricing that a Great Restaurant can lose it’s Quality.

I had a nice experience here at Finn Oliver’s with family. The breakfast buffet was 10$ and after 3 plates, I’m happy with the price I paid. The smaller silverware made me eat a little slower so I wasn’t tricked into thinking I was still hungry none of the food had much salt but there was the option to salt your own food. Waitresses were really helpful as well. I may come again Finn’s ❤️

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience in this family owned restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic. Everything tasted great. We were warmly welcomed since the moment we got in and our server Michelle was super friendly and attentive. She made sure we were well taken care and gave us a 5 star service.
