This was such a refreshing experience. Not only was the staff amazing but the food was too. Quality food at a fair price too. I had almost forgotten what great food tasted like. It’s almost an hour drive for us one way and SO worth the drive. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for dinner about 7pm due to having a late evening job in that area. Ordered the 10oz sirloin with a large baked potato and salad. Excellent dinner and price was fair. Owners are very nice and welcoming. Will definitely stop here again.

Just happened to find the 1872 Chophouse in Chicotah, OK on our road trip back to Texas. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re anywhere close. The food was fantastic! Best chicken fried chicken I’ve had in years! The staff were all friendly and very attentive. The manager/owner stopped by to check on us a couple of times as well. Great service and delicious, cooked to order food! You won’t be disappointed!!

Classic diner feel. Felt like old family restaurant.

Had lunch there today. The chicken fried chicken was great! Good sized portion. I really like the community feel. Customers and wait staff are all friendly to each other. Love the hometown feel.

Amazing people all very nice and makes you feel like family. Food is amazing as well, my favorite is the burgers they make. There in my opinion the best burgers in town. If your new to checotah you have to go and eat there. You’ll want to come back.

Had a tasty lunch at 69 Diner today. Met Georgia, the new owner. She’s so personable and made it a great dining experience. Enjoyed looking at the art on the wall from the Checotah Art Guild. So glad they’re back open all day, all week. We will definitely be going back!!!

I travel with my service dog Kate. Although I think if Kate wasn’t with me I would have loved this place but, she was. The owner, despite his word, didn’t want Kate to come in. Picking up on his reluctance I took her out to the van. My food was great but I ordered 6 raw eggs for Kate’s dinner. They brought them out in shell and notioned that I should leave so I did. Strange experience for us, I’m still not sure why the owner was defensive about us …..

The waitresses in this place are amazing and friendly and this is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. My wife’s fish and green beans are the only thing that came hot. My cheeseburger and both our fries came room temperature. Her green beans were easily the worst tasting green beans we have ever had. We waited 45min for our disappointing food. This was our 2nd attempt eating here hoping it had gotten better. We will never go back again.

My Point Of View
Update:

After seeing it on our first trip, I regretted not getting the catfish. So on our second visit I did not hesitate to order the catfish. I am so glad that I did. It was just wonderful. Tender in the inside, crispy on the outside and did not have that bottom of the lake taste. So good, but the unexpected surprise was just how good their potato salad is. I have no doubt it is made homemade as well; and made my mouth so happy. My husband was actually laughing at how much I enjoyed it, because I was so excited about the catfish, but could not stop talking about the potato salad. Their hush puppies and fried okra are also homemade and very tasty. I ended up devouring the catfish and the potato salad. So good, I highly recommend.

This is a wonderful place for good southern cooking. Lots of room and a tad on the rustic side.

The staff was wonderful and we got excellent table service.

I got a BLT which was good, but after seeing the fried fish I will be trying that next. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries and was very happy with his meal.

My daughter got the chicken tenders and jalapeno poppers. Even though the tenders are not homemade she was very happy with them. She said they were good. The poppers were not wrapped in bacon which is how she likes them. I had one and they were the perfect amount of heat.

I spent a good part of my time people-watching and enjoyed the interactions between the patrons. You could tell the locals really love this place for both the food and visiting with friends.

We will be back.
