Kubo Sushi has not only the tastiest food and the best sushi, but they also provide truly top-quality service. I recently placed a large order for our office lunch, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They made sure everything looked perfect and took the time to listen to all of our requests—from the types of sushi we wanted to how we preferred the platters to be arranged.
When we placed the order on the office kitchen table, I didn’t even manage to take a proper picture because everyone immediately gathered around and started grabbing the sushi. Everything looked so beautiful and tasted even better. The entire office was happy, and people kept complimenting how fresh and delicious the sushi was.

Look no further for sushi and ramen, this is your stop. I ordered the Massacre roll and the Sumo roll (sorry I’m not a raw sushi gal) but these tempura rolls had either smoked salmon or unagi and it was amazing!!! Might I also say the drinks and service is exceptional. The staff is so insanely kind and sweet. The edamame appetizer is the best by the way. I enjoyed absolutely everything I ate. So happy we came here tonight!

This cozy little sushi spot has some of the best inland sushi I’ve ever experienced. (Sorry, places right on the coast have an edge) I tend to judge a sushi restaurant by it’s unagi – if the eel is bland or rubbery, I probably won’t bother with more complicated rolls. The unagi at Kubo is so good, I didnt want dessert. I wanted to continue to savor that taste as long as possible.
The chef comes up with new special rolls every month and I have yet to have one that hasn’t knocked my socks off. There is talent behind that sushi bar and in the kitchen. The floor staff is friendly and just a little quirky, not the formal, reserved servers you get in many places. They make you feel like you’re friends who came in for some great food.
Overall, I strongly recommend this to everyone who likes sushi. If you don’t like sushi, get the croquettes and some tonkatsu. You’ll still have a great meal.

This was a great place for a celebratory dinner, and I would recommend it for any occasion. I was able to make a reservation for a friend’s birthday and we were welcomed and seated immediately with friendliness. The atmosphere and ambience of the place really enhanced the experience. The staff were extremely nice and personable. As well, for someone not too familiar with and cultured in Japanese cuisine they were patient in answering my questions to ensure I was able to get the most out of the experience. The food was great for everyone and I will say they were the freshest sushi rolls I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice lunch or dinner to enjoy something a little different than traditional American cuisine. Thank you Kubo!

As I looked through the menu, the Kubo Bowl caught my attention. I’m so happy I asked about it, and as the waitress described the details of the bowl, my mouth started to water. I ordered it and… wow! It tastes just as good as it was described. It looks simple and plain at the top, but that’s ok. The hidden gem is the rice! The have their own special mix of rice and it just makes everything tasty all the way until the last bite.
Compared to other poke bowls I’ve had before this is by far a favorite. They are light on the sauce, so you can taste everything from the fresh veggies, marinated salmon and tuna, and everything else.
Service was great and quick. I didn’t have to wait long for anything. The portion of the Kubo bowl for lunch was perfect too. The side of soup and salad was a nice touch.
I heard they have a dinner size for the Kubo Bowl too. I may have to stop by for dinner.

Regulars here. You WILL NOT find better sushi in IL then here. Owner spent time in Japan learning everything he knows and it absolutely shows. Everything is top tier. Then moving onto the service… the ladies are the best. This team has managed something incredible here in downtown Elgin.
