I have been frequenting this restaurant for about 5 years. I was extremely happy when they opened the Hudson location, closer to home and my favorite staff. The staff here are amazing and know us by our daughter. The food is spectacular and we try to come a couple times a month. The margaritas are on point and made fresh. If you want authentic and home cooked then you need to give them a visit.

We eat here A LOT. The prices are unbeatable, and depending on what we make for dinner it’s honestly cheaper to just go here. The portions are perfect, we always have leftovers. The staff is amazing and make the restaurant what it is. I’ve never waited more than a minute to be seated. When we order our food, we wait MAYBE 10 minutes for it to arrive. It always comes out delicious. There are many menu options and everything we have tried is always better than the last. My favorite is the shrimp chimichangas

We just had by far the worst experience of our lives in getting takeout from this restaurant. If I could rate the service at zero stars I would. We were excited about trying something new and asked for a taste of the Colorado chile to make sure the spice wasn’t too hot, etc.
The host refused and so we opted not to order this dish. I went out to the car to wait while my wife waited inside for our order. The next thing I know , she came out shaking and told me what happened next: Two staff people approached and cornered her, being very aggressive and verbally abusing her for even requesting such a thing! She told me that she was basically cornered and felt very intimidated as the employee abruptly threw open our bag of takeout to show the contents and then said that “You will probably be writing a review about how bad the food was.” Not so, as we had such an appalling customer service experience that we haven’t even considered trying the food.
And at this point not much interest in that after being verbally abused by by the staff! My wife left the restaurant shocked that we were treated in such an appalling manner. No “Sorry if we had a misunderstanding” or anything like that.
So if you are looking for an establishment that is ready and able to abuse you as a customer this is your place!

Nice vibe when you go in, a step above the usual Mexican restaurant, but nothing I’d write home about except for maybe the lamp fixtures over the tables. The food was okay the fajitas were made with chicken breast , beans and rice were standard, which is good. The salsa wasn’t terrible but I’ve had better salsa other places. We got a burrito too, and that was a disappointment. It tasted like they put Italian marinara sauce across the top. The water was drinkable, unlike water I’ve had from other Mexican restaurants in the area. Price was very reasonable for the lunch menu.
My biggest disappointment was the service. Waitress couldn’t crack a smile (bad day or not, if you’re in customer service, smile at people), and our waiter was disinterested in helping us. He took forever to come to the table to take our order, and then when he brought our food he left the table before I even had the chance to ask him for a clean set of cutlery as the napkin that was wrapped around the cutlery was dirty. And he didn’t bring part of my meal, which he would have known if he had waited and asked if everything was satisfactory or if we needed anything else.
Overall, it’s a 3.5 stars for me and I am disinclined to return there for a meal seeing as how I can get tastier food for about the same price from Chipotle.

Working our way through the menu and have not been disappointed! Always looking forward to our return here.
Food is great, prices are good/fair, service has never disappointed. Never have to wait long for a table.
Free chips n salsa upon arrival (first round), you may have to pay to keep them coming though.
We will continue to eat here regularly!

A few weeks ago, we visited for the first time and were surprised to find that the tableside guacamole was $10. When we finished our dinner and paid the bill, the guacamole wasn’t included. As we were boxing up our food to leave, the server returned with a separate bill for the guacamole, stating she had forgotten to add it to the original bill. There was no apology for the oversight; we were simply told to pay this additional bill.
I can acknowledge that we may have overlooked the price of the guacamole on the menu, but it should have been clearly communicated by the person making it. Overall, the lack of care in service is what will likely prevent us from returning. No one seemed to pay much attention; it felt very lackluster.
I don’t expect to be fussed over, but a bit of attention to detail—like clearing dirty plates from the table while we boxed up our food—would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, I may be labeled as a “Karen” for sharing this feedback, but we would have considered coming back if it weren’t for these experiences.

Been here many times. Trying new dishes and always greeted and taken care of from host to server. I’m not sure what others are complaining about. Plenty of variety for everyone on the menu.

We had a great time at El Cerrito. Their food is clearly authentic, portions are large and priced right. It’s very hard not to fill up on fresh chips, dip and salsa. The house margaritas are outstanding.
Dishes ordered were enchiladas, burrito, shrimp & crab chimichangas & pineapple chicken fajitas. We had to bring 1/2 of it home. All dishes were outstanding and flavorful.
Definitely recommend stopping in to curb your craving for great Mexican food.

My husband and I were so excited to get some takeout and I was interested in trying the Colorado chili and the chili verde sauce. We asked before ordering if we could sample a taste of each but we were told that was impossible. We were intending on purchasing a few different entrees and I wasn’t aware at the time how much commotion my question would bring. We agreed to order something different and proceeded to order two different entrees. I had been talking to a male staff who informed us that we were not allowed to taste the sauces and I was waiting for my order near the hostess stand when two female staff members came over and I was asked what they could do for me and I explained what our original question was. Both women were obviously appalled by my request and proceeded to tell me that no restaurant would ever allow such a thing and I got the feeling I was being ganged up on at that moment. Even though I kept my voice and tone very low key a table next to the station decided that they would get involved and I was cornered by two guests who obviously wanted to support the wait staff and the man in the party proceeded to tell me how rude I was?! He got in my face and said that he needed to leave before he did something to me?! I was literally at that time with my back against the wall waiting for my order. Apparently you never want to ask or inquire about their policies or anything else or you will be sorry for asking. At that point I was extremely uncomfortable and I told them that but they didn’t care and enjoyed the fact that a guest had come to their aid! This was an absolutely a ridiculous situation for anyone to find themselves in and all I wanted to do is to get my food and leave immediately. Lesson learned at this restaurant is to never question their policies. I was accused of probably writing a bad review about their food and at that point I mentioned that if I did a review it wouldn’t be about their food but my experience at this location. Never at any time did staff apologize for their policy regarding the way I was being treated and it appeared to me that this wasn’t the first time a guest was made to feel extremely uncomfortable for asking a simple question. In fact I think the staff relished the fact that a guest had confronted me to tell me that I was being rude and that I was hassling their favorite waitresses?! I was so uncomfortable that I was concerned that the guest was waiting for me to leave the restaurant so he could harass me further. I will never step foot in this establishment again after the way I was treated.
