Michelle (owner) is very sweet!
Arrived 30 min before closing so they were out of brisket and mashed potatoes, but she threw in free baked beans and even gave us some tea.

My family went there yesterday and the food was delicious.!! We all loved the sides and all the wonderful bbq. The owner is very friendly and we truly enjoyed the whole experience and we will definitely go back even though it is an hour drive from our home but so worth the drive.!! I would highly recommend.!!

Don’t read any negative review and just go ahead and stop here. We tried the brisket and the pulled pork. Everything was fresh and delicious! The collards were my favorite part of the meal. The jugs of lemonade were cute, cute and delicious. After tasting our food, we were asked how we enjoyed everything. My husband lamented he didn’t get the Mac and Cheese after tasting how good everything else in his meal was tasting. The lady promptly went and got him a spoonful to try! We will go out of our way to visit here again!!

Five Stars for an excellent BBQ pork sandwich, fries and a drink for $9.99 at lunch. I have eaten bbq at hundreds of places and their pork is smoked perfectly and has great “bark”. They have recently added back a seating area with cell phone charging and good WiFi (you have to search for the wifi “Restaurant Guest” as it is hidden). Parking is only on the south side of the building (see “J’s Parking” signs). Michelle will take your order at the counter, and she is wonderful. Enjoy!

My husband and I went to JJ’s last week. The food was absolutely fantastic. He ordered 1/2 slab of ribs, Mac and cheese and green beans. I ordered 1/4 smoked chicken (breast and wing), okra and potato salad. The food was so good. I suggest you should try it if you haven’t yet. We will be back really soon. Thank you JJ’s.

I went in on a whim this afternoon and brought a variety of food home. We had a rack of ribs as the brisket had sadly already sold out. We had collards, green beans, Mac and cheese, baked beans, fried okra and a couple of desserts. My husband and uncle raved about the ribs…no sauce needed! The collards were delish and I loved the kick in the green beans! Everything was very good! The fried okra was still hot and crispy when I got it home. I encourage you to drive out to White and give them your business!

My recent visit to this barbecue restaurant was deeply disappointing, contradicting the positive reviews I’d read. From the outset, the service was subpar. Our order taker, Tre, was unfriendly and unwelcoming, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere that almost drove us to leave immediately. His demeanor clashed sharply with the glowing hospitality comments I’d seen online, leading me to wonder if those reviewers had visited a different establishment.
The food itself was equally underwhelming. While the collard greens and barbecue sauce were highlights, the much-praised brisket was a major letdown—dry, tough as shoe leather, and largely inedible, suggesting it was far from fresh. The pulled pork suffered the same fate, with an excessive amount of tough, unchewable “bark.” Adding insult to injury, our three-bone rib order yielded only one bone, though that single rib was admittedly tasty. For context, I’m a certified KCBS barbecue judge and competitor, so I have a solid understanding of quality barbecue.
While previous reviews mentioned a cash-only policy, the restaurant did accept credit cards. They also offered ample indoor tables with charging outlets, but oddly, no chairs. This wasn’t an issue for us, as we wouldn’t have stayed long regardless. This experience was so negative that I can’t imagine returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was genuinely embarrassed by the quality of the food we were served.

We tried brisket sandwiches and ribs dinner. The tastes were good and prices were not expensive. Their bbq source is very good. The downside is that they forgot the side of the customer before me, and they also forgot the source on the side. But to be fair, they offered a lot of them when I asked. So the real downside is the atmosphere, it’s like a bar with a little smoke smell not a family friendly space, not sure why they chose that. And those desks and chairs are very high so senior people cannot sit on them. I hope you make it more family friendly not just for young people. And you guys need to educate local young people to become family persons not playboy people who will damage themselves and the community. I almost forgot their restroom is very clean and with Christian faith quote there. God Bless you!
