Wow!! Tried a hole in the wall restaurant that use to be Roosters Steak House and now is Jose’s Cafe, in Harrisonville, Missouri. Wasn’t expecting much when I walked in but the service was excellent and the food was great! We heard from friends that their tenderloins were fantastic and since my wife loves tenderloins and home made Susie Q fries we had to try it out. Gotta say I think the tenderloin could feed three people, not only big around but very thick. The roast beef sandwich was very good but wasn’t a fan of their mashed potatoes. Tasted a bit to me like instant potatoes. The mushrooms were also very good. We actually ate two before I took the picture so the serving size is actually bigger than shown. All in all a good lunch and worth the drive if you are headed south towards Harrisonville.

I wanted to take my wife because she loves tenderloins and she’s tried many different places.
Iv been seeing this place on Facebook so finally we tried it because I was traveling that way.
This is NOT a steak house.
Famous pork tenderloin.
I had the steak dinner.
I found it weird when I asked the young kid what steak most people get when the place literally says ” steak house “.. and there’s only two options for steaks. He claimed it’s not a steak house anymore and the strip would probably be it. New owners yet they kept the name??
Very confused and I gasp and hoped for the best and got it.
Mashed potatoes. And corn?
Apparently they give cup of corn with every dinner
It was just can corn, unseasoned and cold. Didn’t eat it.
Steak was perfect when I came out. Then sitting for the few seconds while I was dressing up my mashed potatoes, drinking my sweet tea and waiting for sauce it was still cooking its self. From medium rare to medium done. I guess they didn’t know that happens?
They asked if I wanted gravy and I said yes . After it coming out and dark gravy on everything I regretted that but it didn’t mess it up.
Sweet tea was fine.
The salad was so fresh it was a bit wet for my liking. Kinda weird.
Wife’s tenderloin was fine.
Her shoestring fries was under cooked. She thought it was the best tenderloin she had in a while. But you can go see her review.
The worst part of this place .
The bad is the bar is attached in the back and parking was difficult. Also it was bingo night and very loud.
Was odd ball but country folk maybe used to this but I’m not.
Didn’t enjoy the service or atmosphere. I do not recommend going on a Friday or Saturday night.

Delicious tenderloin sandwich! This was the half order and it was huge. Perfectly breaded and served hot with tots. One of the best I’ve had.
Service was a bit slow–it took 40 minutes from the time I ordered until the food arrived at my table. They may have been short handed in the kitchen, but the food was great.

The absolute best tenderloin in my life! Perfectly seasoned and breaded not to mention the full tenderloin came with 2 stacked on top of each other! I’ve been eating tenderloins for 55 years and this is my all time favorite! Thank you everyone for the recommendation!

Best tenderloin I’ve had since moving from Iowa 5 years ago. The Susie Q’s would have been good but they were under cooked..

If you’re looking for one of the best, if not the best tenderloins in the KC metro, look no further. Thick cut loins with excellent breading and flavor. The SQ fries were alright, but if you get a full order tenderloin, you won’t need them. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is that of a small mom and pop diner, which I personally am a fan of.
I’d recommend that you either share with a friend or get a half order, this tenderloin is a knockout.

Good food, I could see why they were so busy. This was my first time but not my last. The brisket was really good and tender. The menu has a wide variety. The tenderloin looked amazing.

We was excited to try the food looked really good. But we waited almost an hour no one came to take our drink order. They passed us up and was helping everyone else. They had kids busting the tables. And a lady in her slippers taking orders not very healthy. Definitely a healh code violation. So we left and I definitely give this place a 0.

Best steak and eggs ever, that seasoning they use is on point, cooked to perfection every time, all the time. Not to mention the perfectly cooked hash browns every time. Ive been here three times and i feel like family. The waitresses are amazing and genuianly good people. I love it here. And whoever is the cook there (at open in the mornings) that person’s spouse is definitely happy! I won’t go nowhere else for breakfast.

Okay, I’m a big tenderloin person. I’ve been hearing a lot of good comments and reading a lot of posts about how good this place is on their tenderloins. In fact, they even get a high rating at a Facebook page called pursuing tenderloins. Now, the only thing I want to say about this is before you put anything on this tenderloin, please take the time to taste it plain. The seasoning is fantastic. It’s cooked to perfection. The thickness is right. This is in the top 3 of my tenderloins that I’ve ever had. If you go ask for Renee, she is a fantastic waitress. She’s all over it and the curly, or I guess they call him. The Susie q’s are really good. My only thing there is they could be just a little bit thicker. But they’re still really good now.I have not tried anything else at this restaurant.Although I did see some pretty good dishes come out of the kitchen. But if you’re looking for a tenderloin, I you’re going to be hard pressed to beat this. You’ll see a photo of the condiments like I said. Please try it before you put anything on it. It needs very little
