This is the backside of Dairy Queen in Midland City, AL. It was absolutely disgusting. I should’ve taken a picture of the drive thru order menu sign also. The lights were not working. So, it was hard to see the menu. If you notice the back door wasn’t secure at 9 something at night. Not very safe for the staff. Trash just thrown on the ground out back for all to see. The service was slow. The ice cream was good though.

This place is awful and deserves less that a 1 rating. They have horrible service, and the employees are not enthusiastic to serve you. A few nights ago, my wife and I could not order ice cream because the ice cream machine was empty and needed to be restocked. They said it would take 30 minutes to restock. We left and got ice cream from the nearest McDonald’s whose ice cream machine was miraculously working. How is it possible to go to Dairy Queen and not be able to order ice cream? We might as well be living in the twilight zone.

This past weekend we stopped here for milk shakes about 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. The employees greet you with a look of “WHAT???” and of course no smile or how are you? .
As my granddaughter and I were waiting for them to make our shakes I noticed an employee emptying the garbage. Of course, no one was starting the shakes so I wondered who would be the one to make them. The same employee that had emptied the garbage came back into the ice cream area behind the counter, NO GLOVES, and set the can down and proceeded over to the cups and lids . I was in shock that she didn’t wash her hands nor did she put on gloves. While we were waiting (they were NOT busy) I noticed there was paper all over the floor. It had the appearance of not being swept or mopped in a while. I do agree with one review which said that it used to be a lot nicer/cleaner/friendlier place to stop. It’s a shame. We live right up the road but will choose to drive further most times because it is just nasty and you get such a non care attitude !! There have been some really nice employees over the years but there have also been just as many that were not.
In my opinion, the manager is to blame. Whoever you are, you should take pride in the establishment that YOU are in charge of or step down!!
I gave 2 stars because their food is good… but the service is usually very slow no matter what time of day . Rarely have I walked in and been greeted in a way that made me feel like they wanted my business.

The burger was so tasty and the fries were excellent. Both were hot and freshly made. I will be eating there again tomorrow! I def recommend going by tasting the food. Great job staff and kudos to the employee Nykeera! She was very friendly and communicated very well

The cashier was very nice and helpful. She would get 5 stars. But the food I received was cold and the french fries were soggy. If you have the DQ app on your phone, there are some great coupons on there. You can use more than one digital coupon with your order, unlike McDonald’s which is nice.

Waited in drive thru for 20 minutes for a Diet Coke and cheese curds! Ice cream machine was down, children were running in the back and I got a regular Coke instead of diet! BUT, they didn’t charge us for our food cause of the wait, and they were super busy! Usually they have really great service despite all the mistakes!! Rough night tonight!
