A wilderness-themed American menu in a low-key, lodgelike setting with a fireplace & a warm bar.

My husband and I recently spent a few days in North Conway on a romantic getaway and the last night we were there we had dinner at the Muddy Moose…..absolutely amazing experience.
The building itself was beautiful….I absolutely love the cozy cabin esthetic. We were seated in front of the gorgeous fireplace and they had it lit….made the vibe so much more cozy.
The staff was very nice and courteous. And the food….absolutely amazing! We both ordered steaks with potatoes and squash. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the squash was delicious. A perfect meal to end our trip.

We had just flown in and were looking for some good local food, and this place delivered.
The menu is fairly simple, but the space itself is well put together — warm, comfortable, and welcoming — with genuinely good customer service.
Our food arrived promptly and was clearly prepared with care. The seasoning was well balanced, the flavours were spot on, and it was obvious that whoever put the dishes together knew what they were doing.
We’ll definitely be back.

Muddy Moose is an absolute must when visiting North Conway! I love both the potstickers and the potato skins—two standout appetizers that are packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The haddock was also excellent, cooked perfectly and fresh. The service was speedy, and the servers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I also loved the classic New Hampshire décor, especially the gigantic fireplace—it adds such a cozy, lodge-style atmosphere. Such a fantastic experience all around. I will definitely be back!

We had an excellent experience at the Muddy Moose! Although they don’t take reservations, the 35-minute wait they quoted ended up being just 15 minutes. Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was really cool. The Smokey burger was cooked perfectly, the chicken bacon Caesar wrap was delicious, and the fries were on point. The standout was the Muddy Moose Pie, absolutely to die for. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Muddy Moose – North Conway, NH
This place was just down from where we stayed, parking lot always seemed full so we stopped for lunch.
We ordered spinach and artichoke dip to start, it came with nacho chips. It was OK, but definitely had better.
I ordered Camp counselors chicken – grilled chicken breast brushed with orange citrus glaze and topped with pineapple mango salsa. Comes with vegetable and choice of rice or potato. I selected baked potato. The vegetable served with both meals was squash. The meal was good and filling. I couldn’t finish it, especially after having the appetizer. I did find the orange glaze was a bit strong so it overpowered the salsa.
My son had Jake’s teriyaki salmon. He selected rice for his side. It also came with sesame ginger slaw, which was under the salmon. He really enjoyed his meal. He preferred his over mine.
Not sure why we thought dessert was a good idea, but we ordered a slice of Paradise chocolate cake. I did have just a small bite to try it but I dont care for cake, so my son was on his own finishing this. Needless to say we relaxed for a few hours after all this food. Lol.
I would go here again but probably try other menu items. It is a cute spot and the service was good.

I’ll start with the pros… the staff is friendly and the place is clean. Unfortunately, they miss the mark with the actual food, which is probably the most average to mediocre food we’ve had in a very long time. We really can’t think of a single item that was worth eating. We started with wings as we had been craving some good, crispy buffalo wings. I guess what we got would pass as wings… flabby wings without even a hint of crispness. They were fatty and the sauce maybe had a hint of buffalo flavor but mostly it was just greasy, as though the kitchen staff has never been taught to drain fried foods before serving. The carrots/celery served with the wings were sopping wet, which didn’t help. Ah well, we had higher hopes for our meals, but we were clearly too optimistic as those were not better at all. We got the bbq bacon burger which wasn’t even half eaten because again, the bbq sauce felt and tasted like grease. We also got the bbq chicken bacon sandwich and all that was eaten was the chicken because- you guessed it- everything tasted like grease. Also, how is any restaurant worth its merit sending out burgers and chicken sandwiches on ungrilled buns? I can honestly say that the only enjoyable part of the meal was the pickle that came with the sandwiches.
I really don’t know how this place stays in business, but $80 for awful wings and sandwiches (most of which was thrown away) is infuriating. It says to me that the owners don’t care about putting out a quality product and just figure they can overcharge for garbage food because it’s a tourist area. Do yourself favor and don’t waste your money here – you’re better off at McDonald’s.

Muddy Moose is another well known restaurant in the North Conway area. We decided to stop in for lunch. They designed it to look like a cabin. They had a large menu and so many food items to choose from.
The service was good and it seemed pretty kid friendly. I started off with a drink that was like a mudslide which was good. For my meal, I had a rack of ribs and mashed potatoes; the ribs were tender and hearty. My family also enjoyed their meals. If you’re in the area, definitely worth a stop.

My wife and I stopped for a quick bite to eat. The ambience is nice and the service was incredibly fast. There’s no doubt this place gets busy during peak season. We enjoyed the Spinach Dip and Turkey Wrap. One of our favorite spots to stop while in North Conway.
