Recommend that you spend a little extra time browsing through the shops that line the parking lot. Seems that they locked up ~5pm on a weekday/Wednesday.
Family-owned and effortlessly eclectic, this place feels less like a restaurant and more like stepping into the living room of that one friend who owns three surfboards, five hammocks, and exactly zero matching chairs. Every inch of the place has a story—stickers layered like memories, mismatched décor that somehow works, and an unspoken understanding that nobody’s judging your flip-flops.
The food? Pure, unpretentious joy. The pizzas are huge, handmade, and loaded with flavor—with slices so big you’ll swear they’re part of Tybee’s zoning plan. The toppings are fresh, the crust hits that perfect chewy-crispy balance, and the whole thing tastes like the kind of late-night brilliance only a small, funky beach joint can produce. The sandwiches, snacks, and cold beers follow the same theme: simple, tasty, and exactly what your beach-breezy soul ordered.
The locals love it here, and it’s easy to see why. The staff embodies that Tybee energy—laid-back, friendly, and always ready with a smile or a recommendation. Whether you’re a first-timer or a long-time regular, they treat you like you just came back from a surf trip and need a good meal and a good story.
Families pile in with sandy kids, island lifers kick back at the bar, and travelers stumble upon it like they’ve found a hidden treasure—even though the locals will tell you, with a grin, that the only thing hidden on Tybee is parking.
In short, Huc-A-Poos is a warm knot in the fabric of Tybee Island—quirky, genuine, and full of soul. Come for the pizza, stay for the vibe, and leave feeling just a little more Tybee than when you walked in.
Peace, pizza, and island breezes.
Carnivore – meat, meat, meat

Now this was a delicious experience! I love meat lovers pizza and this slice gave me everything I needed. The sauce was light and savory. The crust was soft and airy. I loved the pizza cutter they gave us to use. It was very filling yet I could have eaten another slice. We met some awesome people while visiting. Todd and G were great accents to this experience. We are looking forward to returning.
