I have lived in Berlin for 30 years, and have never been here before. My Granddaughter suggested we go there because she had been in before with her Softball team and reported that the food was really good. So off we went. It was about 10 degrees that day, and how welcoming, cozy and wonderful to find a wood fire burning in the fireplace!! The seating is comfy, both booths and/or chairs, the staff was awesome and professional, and the food was totally yummy. The atmosphere was delightful with a scent of wood burning in the air. There is a separate bar area, which was almost full, yet quiet and friendly. And the dining area was large with plenty of room. Ample parking in back, easy in and easy out. Ramp or stairs to enter. Great view of Farmington Ave. Reasonable pricing.

Avenue in Berlin has a great inviting feel to it. Very lively with friendly service. Although a bit absent minded, when you have to ask for water 3 times??. Fried calamari is a good size serving and cooked perfectly. However it was very bland in taste. Zero seasoning. Pizza was cooked to order and served very hot. But, also a bit lacking in flavors.

My husband and I were visiting recently just after Christmas. We ordered the veal parmigiana and the sausage and meatball grinder. We also got the tiramisu for dessert. Everything was excellent. Our server was so nice and the food came out quick. The restaurant was so pretty inside, especially with the Christmas decorations still up. I wish we lived nearby, we’d definitely be regulars!

I made a reservation a day in advance for a party that could be up to 15 people. From the very first phone call, the interaction felt unwelcoming, as though accommodating our group was an inconvenience. We ultimately confirmed a reservation for 5:00 PM for a total of 13 guests.
On the day of the reservation, we called ahead to let the restaurant know we were running slightly behind, and we were told we could arrive at 5:20 PM. The majority of our party arrived before that time. However, my children and I were about 10 minutes behind. Despite most of the group already being there, the restaurant refused to seat them until everyone had arrived.
The store manager, Jaime, told our guests that if I did not arrive by 5:25 PM, our reservation would be canceled. Concerned, I called at 5:20 PM because my GPS showed an arrival time of 5:26 PM. I politely asked if the rest of my party could be seated while I was on the way, but Jaime immediately said no. She stated she had already “accommodated” us until 5:25 PM and made it clear that if I arrived even a minute later, the reservation would be canceled despite the fact that nearly the entire party was already there.
I understand that restaurants have policies, but the tone and lack of flexibility shown during this interaction were unnecessary and unprofessional. As a manager myself, I would never speak to a customer the way I was spoken to. Customer service should never make guests feel stressed or unwelcome, especially when they have a large group ready to dine.
Ironically, I arrived at 5:26 PM with my children, and we were seated anyway.
I do want to recognize our server, Jenny, who was outstanding. She completely turned the evening around for our group with excellent service and professionalism. Our bill was over $500, and she made sure we had a positive dining experience despite the situation.
Jenny was the highlight of the night. Unfortunately, the interaction with the manager left a very negative first impression. I hope management addresses how situations like this are handled in the future, because no customer should be treated this way

I loved my experience here. Sufficient parking and building is accessible to those needing a ramp.
We had dinner here at about 6pm on a weeknight, and while we were seated right away, they were plenty busy! It was decorated beautifully for the holiday season and there was a wood fire crackling festively.
Our server was warm and attentive, we were well taken care of.
The meatball grinder was exceptionally good— the sauce and cheese were perfect and the bread was the right blend of soft and toasted. Also tried the chicken francese and that was yummy too.
I’m looking forward to returning!

Everything was absolutely amazing. Havent had a 10 star experience in a long time. The food was exceptional. The service was great, as soon as you finish a dish a host was right on top of it. Plenty of room on the table, and in the restaurant. The waiting area is comfortable and large.
Beautiful inside and out. The waiter was amazing got everything in a timely manner. I cant wait to eat my leftovers already. The prices were also normal and not over priced. Definitely will be back!

We went to this restaurant Friday night to grab some dinner. I was surprised by how busy it was here.
This place appears to have come along way from years ago when it was basically a dive bar.
The staff here was friendly and attentive, keeping us in the loop as to what was going on and how long it would be before we would be seated.
We were able to go in the bar and have a drink while waiting for our table.
We had a large pizza called “The Works” and it basically had everything you would expect to find on a house special except anchovies, but including bacon!
We were very happy we decided to come here and we will be returning to have try some of their dinners in lieu of just pizza.
It is a little deceiving in regards to how busy this place is because everybody parks in the back (for the most part). The parking lot is not visible from the road. As a matter of fact, the parking lot gets pretty full, but luckily we were able to find a place to park.

Amazing potato pizza, flavor was phenomenal. Also got wings which I will give 7 out of 10 for the teriyaki and 5 out of 10 for Buffalo hot. Hot did not have any real heat. Wings were not crispy but still thoroughly cooked. Overall experience was 9. Server was on point all night.

I frequent here often as a townie and this is always my #1 spot. The food and drinks are amazing. I highly recommend the pistachio martini + mashed potato pizza. However, as for as food has gone, I’ve tried most of the menu and any option would be a win! The staff are friendly and the owners is great! He will walk around talking to the customers. I highly recommend The Avenue.

Went there today with a small group. The service was terrific and the food was scrumptious! We happened to be there when the town Halloween Happening was in full swing. We had a great view of the lions and tigers and bears [oh my!] as well as the fairies and goblins and cows and witches and ghouls. Highly recommended! Just one challenge … can you get a branch closer to the south west corner of the state? .
