Spacious Mexican restaurant here in Cenla. There is no shortage of Mexican cuisine in the area – Cayefuego is easily accessible, roomy, and great food. Large areas for private parties. Friendly service. Clean.

This restaurant opens late and has a great atmosphere with fake fire/ real smoke around the bar. The fajita steak and broccoli was to die for. Biria Ramen was tasty. The guacamole is real cubes of avocado with cilantro onions and lemon, not mashed and diluted with sour cream. We finished off with a tres leches that looked like a birthday cake, yet was not overly sweet. A great place to come to especially at night. Service also got better as we stayed.

Lunch here was a successful adventure. Pros: The grilled fish tacos are nearly the best I’ve ever had. Comfortable seating and very clean. Cons: The decor is dark and firelight yet the loud pop music overhead seemed to be a mismatch. Server returned with a different soda for the refill but that’s not an issue. Friendly and prompt attention otherwise. Will return. Soon.

The food is really good. I ordered the fish tacos. My first time to have them and they were tasty. My friend ordered the Texas burrito. She thoroughly enjoyed as well. I ordered an Espresso Martini. My drink was perfect. Mu friend ordered a lemon drop martini. The server was friendly. I was able to order my food in spanish which the server spoke back with me. The ambiance was fun and upbeat. We also enjoyed the DJ. HE KEPT IT ENTERTAINING.

Update: My church ministry family had lunch together before Christmas 2025. The food and service were excellent! There were sixteen of us and everyone was served as needed and all of the appetizers and food came out within a few minutes of each other hot and delicious.

I went with a large group for my cousin’s birthday dinner. The inside aesthetic is beautiful. The drinks were beautiful, but light. They didn’t taste like they had alcohol in them. Our waiter did not come back to check on our table. Everyone’s food was either warm or cold as if the food was just sitting out after it was done. Only one person’s food came out hot and it was the last person of our party to arrive and order. I would suggest the waiter bring out the food once it is done. I understand having the entire table eat at the same time but because of the decision to wait the food wasn’t enjoyable. I ordered the potato shrimp fajita. I unfortunately got food poisoning. The rest of my large party is fine. I will not be returning, but I definitely had fun that Thursday night. Definitely was a vibe.

The friendly greeting upon entering Cayofuego’s was a pleasant beginning of my dinning experience. The atmosphere is also very welcoming. The restaurant is spacious, well appointed and modern. The music was a bit too loud for me to hold a quiet conversation with my guest. The menu is large, well presented and inviting, albeit a bit on the expensive side for lunch. Dinner prices appear to be fair for the quality of the food. The salsa was perfect for my taste buds. And to be fair and honest, better than the salsa at my favorite Mexican restaurant. The chips were very fresh. The meals I ordered were excellent, and of generous portions. The Quesabirrias and Tacos Mexicanos are recommended. They also have a children’s menu and offer soups, salads, chicken tenders, cheese burgers and French fries for those inclined. I will return often enough to try more of the menu, and I may follow up with a future review.
