Really recommend this place! My fiancé and I are trying Lion king sushi from every restaurant we can in the city, and this one is from far the best one we had. Sashimi was REALLY FRESH and melting! Service was really good and attentive. Atmosphere is very calm and comfy, with a a nice playlist!

Good:
– Cute ambiance, and clean interior
– The miso soup was incredibly tasty and seaweed salad was fresh too
– The sushi rolls were tasty – I liked the dragon roll the best, the tempura was crunchy and the buddhilicious was good too! Not as good as dragon though
– The amount of food you get for the cost is good.
Bad:
– Took a while for our sushi to get to us (20-30 min wait) so it felt a little long
– The staff don’t check in too often with us
Overall it was a decent sushi experience, not sure that I’d come again.

Incredible sushi restaurant! Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The husband & wife owners were working together when I visited for dinner. They’re both very kind and passionate about their restaurant. The husband is an expert sushi chef with impressive skills. The meal was amazing! The sushi variety was wonderful — high quality and very fresh. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth, and we splurged on more & more because it was so good! This place is a gem. Definitely worth visiting.

Stopped by Fishmandu Sushi for a late afternoon meal and was really impressed : both by the quality of the food and the variety on the menu
We ordered quite a few things:
• Miso Soup — light, flavorful, and exactly what you’d expect.
• Naruto Salad — fresh and crisp, with nice textures.
• Salmon Sashimi — super fresh and buttery, definitely one of the highlights.
• Rocking Roll and Futomaki — both solid, nicely made rolls with good balance between rice and filling.
• Salmon & Avocado Roll — creamy and well portioned, very satisfying.
********• Sunshine Roll — this one stood out. A bit pricier, but it felt like a premium roll with great flavor and presentation.******
Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was casual but clean and comfortable. This spot stands out for its freshness and fair prices.

Food is fantastic. We were a bit hesitant about the area, as there are quite a few homeless people around this area in general, that might make you feel uncomfortable, but we wanted to support local businesses. Really happy we did that! Great service, better food, best sushi ever.

What a lovely restaurant with fresh, made to order sushi. The food quality is of the highest quality and tended to by a lovely couple, who cares about their clients. The food and experience is great and I cannot recommend this enough. Please make the short walk here from Union Square, and the chains and come support a great local business.
