Best bar food. The cheesesteak definitely the best I’ve had in Buffalo. That seede roll really makes it different than the rest of the sandwiches I have on Buffalo that use the same bread. Chicken parm with vodka sauce was spot on with perfectly seasoned cutlets again on that awesome seede roll. Cheeseburger was good quality and cooked perfectly. wings were also big players probably some of the best I’ve had in Buffalo with their own unique sauce. Definitely give them a try. I would highly recommend for anybody that likes Italian-American handhelds and buffalo classics like wings.

My wife and I just had an early dinner there today. First time here and food was FANTASTIC! My wife had the Steak & Cheese and I had The Rodeo Chopped Cheese. Both came with fries and let me tell you that the fries taste EXACTLY like McDonalds fries and that is a compliment. Huge portions! Service was fast and friendly too. Highly recommended.

I had some expectations about this place based on things I’d heard, and it went above and beyond them. In Buffalo, most people consider one particular spot to be the king of wings, but if someone told me that Sterling Tavern had the best, I would certainly see their argument.
The wings were spectacular—perfectly sauced and perfectly cooked. They were so good, in fact, that I’ve been actively trying to plan a night to go back. Now, if they only served wings, it would be good enough on its own, but the fact that they also have awesome cheesesteaks is a true game-changer.
Everyone in WNY needs to give this place a try. Not to mention, their fries were on par with McDonald’s, except they thankfully don’t get cold fast!

Great bar with great food. I came to watch the football games and the bartenders were very attentive while I was here. They also have some of the best bar food I have ever had. I really enjoyed the steak and cheese. One of the best I have had especially at at bar. The burgers was also solid and really enjoyed it. Also don’t overlook the fries simple but exactly what you want for fries.
Overall amazing bar and would be looking forward to coming back.

I was at the Sterling Place Tavern in North Buffalo, New York last night, where I had the second best steak and cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. That includes cheesesteaks I’ve had locally, in the Philadelphia area, and all over the East Coast.
The manager, Lucas came up to me before I left and asked how I found out about the place. I told him that I learned about it from Anthony and his page Eat Local New York and that this is honestly the second best steak and cheese I’ve had anywhere on the East Coast.
The biggest reason this sandwhich was so good is because of the bread he uses. Lucas drives 2 hours to get his sub rolls. They are just the right thickness and support the contents very well.
Side note, this place was packed full of people when I got here. People cleared out once the Buffalo Bills game was over.

If there’s one thing I know it’s a good steak and cheese. When it comes to the Sterling, it’s as good as it gets. Premium steak chopped perfectly on the hands down best sub roll I’ve ever had. The fries are pretty wicked also.

Everything was pretty mid honestly. Not terrible, not great. I will say the chicken wings were very good but the chopped cheese lacked flavor and the chicken cutlet had a very strong vodka smell and taste. We never got our appetizer and it was just overall mid.

We came from the southtowns to go to a movie at North Park Theater and wanted to hit up a place for dinner beforehand. We were not disappointed! We each had one of their chopped cheese sandwiches on special – my husband had the stinger and I had the “angry” chopped cheese (pictured) with jalapeño poppers and cayenne ranch. Just incredible! I forgot to take a picture until after I had already eaten half my sandwich. Service was also impeccable. And great vibes overall. We will definitely be back!!
