The food is delicious! They use a local bakery, Gaston’s, so good. Best Bavarian pretzel, light not heavy with a perfect golden crust, served with spicy ground mustard and a creamy beer cheese. Even my husband ate it up, and he’s not a pretzel person. He ordered the turkey and brie sandwich with salad while I had the veggie sandwich with soup. Definitely homemade; did not come in a can. So tasty with layers of flavors. It reminds me of Fork downtown, except it’s reasonably priced and there’s plenty of free parking. Highly recommend.

We found The Local by just doing a Google search. We are always looking for great local restaurants everywhere we go, and The Local did not disappoint.

We love the atmosphere and the fact that they have a dog-friendly patio.

We started with the Bavarian Pretzel. The mustard had a nice little kick. The Pretzel was warm and soft on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside.

Off their menu, we ordered the Mac & Cheese and added bacon and chicken. Absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a great comfort food dish, their mac & cheese is the way to go.

We also ordered the turkey and brie sandwich. We changed it up a little adding bacon and putting it on sourdough. It was the perfect combo of savory and sweet with the blackberry compote.

For our beverages, we went with an Arnold Palmer *Fresh lemonade* so refreshing!
We also tried their canned cocktail, New Fashion Orange Ginger Whisky. Also light and refreshing.

We’ve added this place to our list of Boise-Town favorites and can’t wait to bring our dogs back.

Keith is an awesome bartender, he always recommends really amazing drinks. The food is ALWAYS fantastic, no matter what I get. The nachos are my go-to but the sliders are a close second. Very classy atmosphere and everyone is really sweet. Shout out Augustine in the kitchen for whipping up some of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had.

What a great place to meet with friends for lunch ! Not only was the Manhattan clam chowder delicious ( took another serving to-go!) but the turkey brie sandwich was also very tasty, made with delicious bread, and more than filling. more

Went here with the family for the first time on Saturday and it was SO good! I was honestly surprised the place wasn’t packed bc the food was so good and our server was on it.
They rushed out my toddlers food as fast as they could (which we all seriously appreciated!!) and the sliders were so delicious. My only complaint is that they aren’t closer to my house!!

We love The Local! We frequent this place pretty regularly. We left today saying we’ve never been disappointed with anything here Maybe we’d like a fry with our burgers from time to time, but there’s almost something special about it too. They have one of the best smash burgers in town. We crave them!! They are simple and delicious. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is quaint and inviting. We highly recommend!

The Local in Boise is “a neighborhood Eatery and Wine Pub, offering live music and rotating artists.” They also have a dog, friendly patio and a Dog menu.

MW and I visited during Happy Hour, which is Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 5 PM. We ordered a mix of items off of the happy hour menu and the regular menu.

We started with Hurricane Popcorn – A Hawaiian favorite – with Nori Furikaki and Japanese rice crackers. It was very flavorful and unlike any popcorn I’ve ever had before. This is a unique menu items The Local is known for.

We ordered two side Caesar salads. I like that it had homemade croutons, but it needed a little more more dressing.

We shared an order of Carnitas Street Tacos, to which we added 1 extra taco. The pork was tender, but the tacos were pretty bland.

We shared an order of Smash Sliders – 3 smash burgers using our own custom burger blend from Porterhouse in Eagle, with classic American cheese. They were tasty. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo!

We shared two desserts:

Berry Crisp – Blackberry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. The berry crisp was excellent!

Crème Brûlée – Simple and delicious vanilla crème brulee. The crème brûlée was good, but not great. The texture wasn’t as creamy as it should’ve been.

We visited early on a weekday, so we didn’t get to hear any live music, but we pretty much had the place to ourselves until towards the end of our visit. Overall, the food was good, but not great. However, they do have a bigger menu than most wine bars and they allow dogs on the patio. The Dog Menu looks excellent! The Local has a nice Wine Menu, as well as several local beers on tap. If you’re looking for a nice wine bar with a neighborhood pub vibe, The Local is worth considering. I would like to return and try their Pepe’s Famous Fish Tacos. The pictures of their flatbread look excellent too.

* The Local is wheelchair accessible.

We came here often for lunch after pickleball until the city of Boise closed nearby pickleball courts. We visit less often now but everything is still very good. Great selection of beers and wine. They rotate selections. Definitely not a sports bar. Outdoor seating depending on weather. Parking is free.
They occupy a corner spot of a business mall.

The food is absolutely AMAZING. We came here on a Saturday evening and were greeted by friendly staff. The Mediterranean salmon was perfect. Everything on the plate complemented each other wonderfully. We even brought our dogs and were given a doggy menu! Our dog loved the doggy dinner. Definitely a must if you’re in the garden city are.

Made a stop for a quick bite on the way to the airport. Its a nice atmosphere and great service. I had the BLT with a cup of soup. The sandwich tasted great. I enjoyed the crispy sourdough bread it had a nice aioli that tasted great. The tomato basil soup was very good too. I really liked how they left the puréed tomatoes in the soup instead of straining them it added a little heartiness to go along with the good flavor.
