Fun place to decompress and grab a drink or light grub whether you’re young or old. Went with a bunch of buddies for snacks and then later on in the evening for some more drinks and music. Fantastic spot and lots of energy. Big big energy. Would recommend it to anyone in looking for a good time.

I wasn’t there long but Alex did a great job behind the bar. Easy conversation and relatable. TVs to watch sports, pool tables, fun vibes. The wings were not for me, way too breaded, but they had good flavor and I could see how other people would like them. I’ll try something else next time

Great experience here! Loved the atmosphere and all the little details here and there. We loved the bar specifically! Had smashed burger and beef deep and both were good! Would love if they could come with greens as well as fries. The terrace looked amazing tho it was closed. Gonna come back again! Nice staff too.

I slipped into Snowshoe Sam’s for a beer only. No food. No need, really. Between the menu and the wall of photos, you can tell exactly what’s coming out of the kitchen: classic brown bar fare, heavy on the deep fryer. The smash burgers are probably solid, but this review isn’t about the food. It’s about the bar.

If I were a betting man, I’d wager Snowshoe Sam’s was the first bar on the mountain, and everything else grew up around it. It sits right at the end of the village’s commercial strip like an anchor, quietly asserting seniority. For generations, this has likely been the place for food, alcohol, and whatever version of a mountain party was fashionable at the time.

You can feel it in the details. The floors are worn smooth by ski boots and late nights. The room is cozy in that unmistakable ski-town way, all wood and warmth, with heavy tables built from logs that look like they were never meant to move again. The walls carry a lived-in alpine vibe, though I couldn’t help but notice the absence of the truly classic Lange posters, especially the iconic “Warm Inside.” A missed opportunity, but forgivable.

What really stood out was the staff. The waitresses moved with purpose, working hard and clearly watching out for one another. At one point, it looked like an impromptu huddle formed just before the rush, the kind of quick, wordless coordination that only happens in places that have been doing this for a long time.

Snowshoe Sam’s doesn’t need to impress. It already knows what it is. And if I were younger, this is exactly where I’d be spending my money, night after night, letting the mountain set the pace and the bar take care of the rest.

I LOVE smash burgers best thing ever!
Last year the smash burgers were perfect !
BUT this year the burger has changed!
I came in on the 27th and was excited to have a burger! BUT
The patties sre way different not as smashed and it was a little thicker and did not have nice thin crispy edges! Also a smash burger has shredded lettuce! Last year there was shredded lettuce but this year was a couple of weak looking pieces of lettuce
Please NEVER mess with a perfect smash burger and last year you guys had that
Have a great season

Came here the other night and was served by a young man named Oscar. Food was excellent and the kids couldn’t be happier. The service from Oscar was unbelievable. The whole restaurant was incredibly busy and we’re a large family but Oscar did a great job accommodating us. Can’t thank him and all of the Sam’s staff enough for ensuring we had a great night as a family.
