I’d go back!
The interior is definitely American diner. I loved the nostalgic tables, bar stools and checkerboard floor.
Friendly service, greeted upon entering and instructed to sit wherever.
The menu is simple but not boring. They have daily specials, as well. I am a big fan of Coney dogs, so I knew what I’d be ordering. The dining room wasn’t busy but the order seemed to take a little longer than I’d thought it would. The fries were hot and paired very well with malt vinegar -like fair fries! The Coney dog arrived warm but not hot. The hot dog was beef and a solid dog. The chili was delicious. The cheese was from a bag and never melted. I blame that on being pre-shredded and being placed on a warm chili dog. 3.8 out of 5 for the type of cheese, lack of onions & cheese (you gotta load up a chili cheese dog!) and the temperature it arrived to the table.
Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Prices were fair. Service was friendly. I’ll give them another visit soon and maybe I’ll take it to go – eat the fries in the car and microwave the Coney dog when I get home
Stopped by with the wife and daughter. There was only 1 other couple there on a Sunday afternoon.
I ordered the coney dog with onions. It was good.
My wife ordered a single burger and was dry and a little ehh!! ( best way to explain it I guess)and her fries were like super tough. And the daughter got the fried vegetables. That is where it went real bad. The mushrooms were so over cooked that they were so dark brown. The taste was about the worst. I told the young server and all the reply I got back was OK. My wife explained to me that is what happens when the grease needs changed in the fryer. I never worked in a restaurant were I was involved in cooking.
The bill was not addressed to compensate not eating them at all. But I like the atmosphere of the old time ice cream shop. Just a shame we had an issue visiting.
The sign on the front of the building says hamburgers are $1.50. So does the menu. They charge $6.50.
They don’t have iced tea because Pepsi didn’t bring it. They are under new management and the menu prices don’t count because the tech guy is in the backroom changing them on the waitress’ tablet as we order. But hey, the $5 order of fries is only $3 right now. And then the other waitress had to come out and explain things to us as if our waitress couldn’t.
The very warm creamy chicken was good. The Chicago Dog, while not exactly Chicago was very good. The fries were great with vinegar. The chocolate ice cream was delicious. I can’t blame the waitress for their problems so she got a fair tip. Her service was good. The one and only handicap spot is right next to the door but the parking lot has a serious slant right there so it is not a great situation. Even with the higher prices and questionable problems of management change, we’ll likely give them another try after giving them time to fix things.
I called and ordered our food on the phone and picked it up conveniently in the drive thru. There wasn’t a long wait and they were nice, however, I haven’t seen the inside yet…. it was a Friday night and wanted to relax at home. I’m thrilled that Kreamland is open again, new owners, newly renovated, clean and still in the community of Navarre! I was hoping they still had the Hershey’s Marshmallow Overload ice cream they had before. no such luck…maybe that’s a good thing though. I think the sever said they have a different supplier of ice cream than the other owners. I think Hersheys was the only company that made it I’m sure I’ll find a different flavor to love..they have many to choose from!
