Just got back from our first and definitely not last trip to the snack shack in Skowhegan ME. The staff was friendly and food came out promptly. This was the BEST seafood dinner I’ve had in 20years. I ordered the pick 2 clam bellies and scallops with fries. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious! The oil used you could tell was clean, the clam bellies were clean, the scallops were tender and even the fries were delicious!! We will definitely back to try more things… they are starting a breakfast menu this weekend! Love a good breakfast!

Been going to the Snack Shack for years. My go to is the Mixed Seafood Basket. Piled up high with fried shrimp, clams, scallops & haddock over a bed of fries! Very good serving! Everyone so welcoming! They have a self serve area for utensils, napkins, dipping sauces and condiments. Music playing lightly in the background. You can order take out, dine in or outside. The interior has a car theme with old signs, license plates, hot rod pictures and a red Chevy BelAir car on the wall. It’s definitely worth a travel to Skowhegan to enjoy the food, thank you!

Visited on a Thursday, mid afternoon. There was a few take out orders and two tables full in the dining room. The one thing we noticed was how clean the place was. Dining room was immaculate with even the vending machine/game? on wheels so it could be cleaned under. Once a table left, staff wiped down everything and even swept the floor in that area to keep it all perfect, well done!
Haddock pieces were very good and the onion rings were excellent. Portions were good and overall it was a great value.

It was ok. The portions were small for central Maine. Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for myself and a snack basket of chicken fingers for my other half. What was lacking in Buffalo Chicken in the wrap was made up for with lettuce… chicken was lacking; lettuce was to much. Over all it was run of the mill. Chicken fingers we’re chicken tenders. Those and the fried were ok too. They definitely weren’t bad.

For the price of the food You get ripped off. This combo sharkload cost $25. it was 3 whole belly clams and 6 haddock nuggets with maybe a kiddie amount of fries. There are better places for the price.

What a great place!!! I feel lucky that I was able to find this place before the closed for the year. What a great attitude of their employees at the register and what a service. I tried a few plates just to check their flavor and presentation and it was outstanding. I will happily come here everything time I can since I have enjoyed a lot everything about it. Clean and neat place which is a pleasure to dine in. Will go back to try a few more options before they closed. Thank you much.
