Cozy bistro for American bistro fare including specialty mussel dishes & a long gin list.

Vincent’s is an American bistro known for its sophisticated yet cozy neighborhood atmosphere. Great place for a romantic evening or with a group of friends. We went with a large group of friends and were impressed by the service and delicious food. Definitely worth a visit.

My friends and I went to Vincent for drinks and a late dinner, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere—the low-lit, French-inspired dining room felt lively yet cozy, making it a great spot to relax and socialize. I started with their “24 Carrot” and followed with a “Smoke and Mirrors”—both were well-balanced cocktails, complex in flavor without being overly sweet. For food, I ordered the gnocchi parisienne; while I enjoyed the soft, fluffy, buttery gnocchi, the plate had more yams and potatoes than I would’ve liked. Still, what gnocchi there was, I loved.

Moved to the neighborhood about a year ago and the food and cocktails at this place always hit. I had the squash risotto last night and it might be the best risotto I’ve ever had. The steak and burger are my usual choices but I’m glad I tried something new. My friend had the halibut and it couldn’t have been cooked more perfectly.
Their happy hour cocktail specials are the best in the neighborhood (that I’ve found). The bar is always busy and it’s a great place to meet other people from the neighborhood too.
Bartenders and servers are super friendly and the lighting and candles everywhere really give it a great vibe.
Overall a rarity these days to have a such a cool neighborhood bistro that hasn’t been bought out and ruined by some big company. Check it out!

Drinks were great, bartender was so sweet and nice! Think it said his name was Mitch on our check. Food was not bad but my personal feeling is that it could use some elevation and refining. The serving sizes match up with the prices, nice large portion sizes, perfect for sharing.
Diving deeper:
Charcuterie, plate presentation could be better, the meats on it felt like an odd cold cut combo you get at a deli. Plenty of cheeses to choose from as one would like! The bread is soft and nice.
Steak tartar is a larger cut premixed type of preparation. I personally prefer the finer cut/ground type of meat. Bread portion is nice, having it sliced and toasted individually would be a nicer touch for me. The presentation doesn’t matter otherwise weather it comes premixed or plated for all the individual ingredients.
French onion was not very warm and a bit too sweet.
Cheesecake was nice, not super sweet which I feel pairs well with cocktails!
Overall good experience, great place!

Where has this neighborhood joint been my entire time in Chicago? I really wish o knew about this place sooner. I came here with a social group so I had no say in picking it but damn an I glad they knew about it.
Parking was relatively easy but it’s also very bus accessible. The service was a bit spotty but they were very busy for a Tuesday night and comp’d some drinks in response for the dinner taking so long.
The chicken liver mouse was delicious and very filling – definitely a shareable dish. The gnocchi was also good but honestly by the time I got to it I was already getting full and I still knew I had to get thru the steak frites which was the star of the meal. They also added on a chocolate cake for good measure which unfortunately we ALL had to take home because we were so full and it had gotten so late.
I’m looking forward to my next visit and possibly a more conservative order.

Although the service was a bit cold and lackluster, we loved the space! Very romantic and atmospheric. Overall the food was good. Apps and steak were a hit. The trout was just okay due to the very thick pastry crust.

Just moved to the neighborhood this year and came in for the first time this Friday. The place was very busy but the host was able to squeeze us in. Despite being so packed the service and vibe was top notch. Our server Ryne was attentive and knowledgeable even though we could tell he was busy. The sourdough bread was out of this world, maybe better than Publican, and he let us know it was made in house. Cocktails were amazing, we had cold brew martinis, and the burger rivaled Little Bad Wolf in my opinion. I can’t believe I found this hidden gem, I’ll definitely be back.

We’re longtime fans of this restaurant and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and service as well as its lovely interior and patio. In fact, we liked it so much that we decided to host our wedding reception here. Rich, Mitchel, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process, meeting with us in-person several times and attentively responding to emails. They helped us plan a diverse menu that accommodated our guests’ dietary restrictions. Even though we’d dined at Vincent before, the food during the event exceeded expectations and the portions were amazingly generous. We had around seventy guests total and they were able to transform the space throughout the night for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. It was a great success and our guests keep telling us how much they enjoyed the food. We can’t recommend it higher. Thanks again!
