On a hotel shuttle heading to the airport, we happened to share the ride with a Canadian airline pilot. During our chat, he recommended the Flying Beaver, mentioning it’s a good restaurant where you can see planes landing and taking off. Intrigued, after visiting Grouse Mountain, we went there for dinner. However, we didn’t see any planes landing or taking off, despite it being near the airport—perhaps just bad timing or we were misled by the pilot, who might be involved in PR or marketing there, haha.
We arrived around 8pm to a bustling but comfortable environment. The atmosphere was pub-like but suitable for everyone—friends, family, or solo diners—with indoor seating and a bar. As tourist, I found the prices a bit high, though locals might feel differently. I wouldn’t recommend the Happy Sunshine Bowl—it’s a little too sweet for a rice dish. The Pad Thai also had a hint of sweetness, with a spaghetti-like twist, according to my friend. I preferred the Pesto Seafood Linguine I ordered; it was delicious! Choose seafood as your toppings you’ll thank me The portions are generous, enough for two, as all four of us couldn’t finish our plates. The service was quick, and the Asian woman who assisted us was warm and efficient.
The place’s interesting design and ambiance make me want to return, probably on my next trip with friends.

We went there for dine out event. The portion is pretty good and price is fair. It is interesting to look through the window and see the seaplane flying, although it is hot beside the window if it is a good weather. More parking lots cross the street.
It is better to make a reservation earlier, pretty busy place.

Currently the restaurant is offering a Dine Out Vancouver Menu, 3 courses for $29. We have ordered one to try. The chowder soup was delicious, it was creamy and rich in clam flavour. I also ordered a lunch special which was a beef and cheese sandwich with a bowl of green salad.
I enjoyed the atmosphere there. We sat by the window, relaxed and had good views of the seaplanes. It is unique in Richmond.

Amazing place amazing food!!! I went with my colleagues and it was so much fun. I ordered Veggie burger, for vegetarians couple of items are on the menu and the taste is very good! It was a burger with veggie patty and a bowl of salad. Amazing combinations of food items! The servers were very polite and helpful. Beautiful ambience undoubtedly. Don’t worry if the parking is full below the restaurant, you can go across the road and park there as it belongs to Flying beaver bar and grill.
Must visit 10/10

Flying Beaver Bar & Grill gave us such a romantic night. We grabbed a table by the windows at sunset and watched floatplanes skim the water while the river lit up—instant mood. Cocktails were bright and well-made, and our food came out hot and fresh (the salmon and fish tacos were perfect for sharing). Service was warm and unhurried, so we could linger and soak up the view. It felt laid-back yet special—exactly what we wanted. Tip: aim for golden hour and ask for a window or patio seat for the full waterfront magic.

Tried the dine out menu here and had a very disappointing experience. The food was bad overall. I found a hair in my salad, and when I mentioned it, the server said it would be remade, but it came back with the same bruised fruit just rearranged.
The chicken was very dry and smothered in what tasted like bottled Kraft BBQ sauce. The donuts tasted strongly of oil and were hard, like they had been refried multiple times. The service was also slow.

If you love amazing views while you eat delicious food then this is your place! Staff was so kind and helpful. We were there just before sunset and it was beautiful! The whole atmosphere was so fun and watching the seaplanes take off and land was a highlight. You need to go here.

Always busy over weekends but location is amazing. It’s right by the river and you can enjoy the view and watch the seaplanes land or take off. Went in Friday night when the World Series finals for baseball game was on. Place was packed as all Canadians were there to cheer the Toronto Blue Jays.
We waited 10 mins to be seated but you can call ahead and make a reservation. Our server was super friendly. My partner and I both ordered the Sunshine bowl – one of the vegetarian options. It was delicious. Check photos to see the menu and contents for sunshine bowl in it.
If ever you are in the area, don’t miss out this cool place.

Taco Tuesday was an awesome experience! Had to try every single taco choice that they offered! Service was great and on spot! Atmosphere was very inviting and I’m sure in the daytime especially at sunset it would have been even better!

I love the vibe and the beautiful view of the harbour here! I had the cod fish and chips — perfectly done, soft inside and crispy outside (which can be hit or miss at other places). My partner had the cranberry chicken club with fries, and it was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was also amazing! We’ll definitely be coming back — the menu has so many great options, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.
