What an amazing meal! Just a quick 15-20 minutes from downtown Chicago and you can eat what we thought was the best meal our whole trip. The pizza was amazing . The pasta was unique and delicious deserts were fantastic. Even the kids spaghetti was awesome . We happened to sit next to the owner or manager and he recommended the gnocchi, which was by far the best I’ve ever had. Dang that was good. Would totally return just for that.

We had our team dinner at Bar Siena and it was an absolutely memorable experience! The atmosphere is lively, stylish, and welcoming—perfect for both groups and casual evenings. The food was outstanding, from the flavorful small plates and wood-fired pizzas to the delicious pastas and desserts. Every dish was crafted with care and tasted incredible.

The service was top-notch as well—the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure our large group was well taken care of throughout the evening. The drinks menu was excellent too, with a great variety of cocktails and wines to pair with the meal.

Overall, Bar Siena gave us the perfect mix of amazing food, great vibes, and warm hospitality. It truly made our team dinner special, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Chicago!

The weather was warm, the sun was setting, and the patio was buzzing. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and smiled slightly. The feeling of complete peace mixed with subtle excitement was a bit confusing, but I knew that I liked it. This is a typical summer night on the patio of Bar Siena… weather permitting of course. While the vibes are great, the food and drink menu bring forth extensive offerings that can satiate even the most stubborn palate. As an Eastern European food connoisseur new to the Chicago area, I have carefully constructed a rating system that reflects my personal thoughts, feelings, and experience.

Food: 8/10

All the food we got was split amongst 4 people and one of them was “Hangry”. For the price, I felt that we all left full and satisfied. Below is a recap of the food we enjoyed.

Focaccia (prosciutto added) – My first thought was that adding prosciutto for 6 dollars was probably not worth the price, but then the dish came out and it was clear that they weren’t afraid to pile on the prosciutto. The prosciutto was salty, savory, and sliced thin enough for you to read your great grandmothers diary through. Aside from the prosciutto, the bread was done perfectly, and it was clear they used an olive oil nicer than the one sitting in my kitchen counter.

Burnt Pepperoni Pizza – Could be a personal pie if you were by yourself. The pizza was very good, but not something I would write home to my family about. The highlight was obviously the pepperoni which has crisp edges that would crunch with each nibble.

Pastas – We chose the vodka rigatoni and gnocchi which were very rich and perfect for sharing. Honestly, this is what I would expect from pastas of this price point. They were delicious, but did not exceed any expectations for the price.

Drink: 6.5/10

Old Fashioned – This is what I expect an old fashioned to be at this price point. I appreciated their use of a singular, large ice cube that would cool the drink without watering it down.

Beer – I wanted to have a beer, but I opted out because I noticed that none of their offerings were on tap. As a beer snob, this was the most disappointing part of the experience. This is not the place to come for beer unless you enjoy drinking from a can.

Atmosphere: 9/10

The patio was 10 out of 10 as describe above. It is busy and energetic in the most fun and non-overwhelming way possible. Of course, this vibe would change if you were sitting indoors or if the weather was poor (not my experience).

Return Likelihood: 8/10

This would be a hard place to pass up again if my fiancé and I happened to walk by with a group again. We loved how we were able to easily get in without a reservation. The food was great but the overall atmosphere is was makes this place a fun start to the night with friends!

Thanks for the wonderful experience,
George Clydesdale

Bar Siena is Fantastic! Truly can call themselves a bar,as they have a great selection of drinks and cocktails that are phenomenal. The food is great too and we went really basic and ordered calamari, rigatoni a la vodka, and pep pizza. All were amazing. The rigatoni was unique in that the pasta was smaller but thicker and chewy, which we loved! Pizza had phenomenal crust.
Overall great and will be back.

Had much higher expectations going in that were not met in any aspect.

Was sat upstairs at a table as a group of 3. The upstairs layout felt a bit awkward and crammed. House music was blasting (which I love) and plenty bright TV’s had sports on which felt weird provided the environment. Seemed as though they were trying to promote different atmospheres.

Server was alright but wasn’t giving us any energy and kept hovering around our table, seemingly just waiting for us to order.

Got the Burrata app, Cacio E Pepe entree, and Hot Fashioned drink. Have had much better for much cheaper at other Italian restaurants.

Bathroom felt disorderly – paper towel out of a bin, hair all over sink, mirror not centered, trash overflowing.

Genuinely not trying to bash this place but it was incredibly mid given the location, price points, and hype.

Our server Daniel made tonight the best dining experience! We celebrated our Great Dane’s 8th birthday, with Bar Siena, for the fourth year in a row. Love it here!

I had the weirdest experience at this restaurant. The bar was half empty at 3pm during the bears game. I came alone and within 20 minutes of sitting down Stace handed me the check while I was still eating my food. 1 minute goes by and he aggressively grabs the check while saying “all done here?” even though I haven’t paid bc I’m still eating. Super bad service. Felt like I couldn’t enjoy my $30 dollar burger (with tip). Mind you the bar was half empty so I had no clue why he was trying to rush me out. 5 minutes after he grabs the empty check, a female bartender tried to take my half aten food. There are tvs everywhere so I thought this would be a chill place to watch the game. Never again. Terrible ambiance and rude service. Do not waste your time here.

My girlfriend and I picked this placed randomly on N.Y.E., after a horrible experience at BLVD Steakhouse. The atmosphere, service, wait time, DJ, and food was awesome at Bar Siena. Thank you Bar Siena for an amazing outcome to an uneasy start of our night.

Food was amazing! Truffle mushroom pizza and salmon is a must. Paper plane is smooth. Not too strong and not too citrusy. Just right. Old Fashioned was strong but delicious.
