Great find in historic Scottsville for lunch. The food, atmosphere, and service were a triple winner, really excellent!! Highly recommended!
The food was simple, high quality and delicious. The prices for lunch were very reasonable. The owner told me all of the meat is sourced from his family’s organic local farm where the animals live free range.
I had General Nick’s pulled pork sandwich and my daughter had the Pub Burger both served on a fresh, delicious (and likely locally sourced) brioche bun. I’m so sorry I forgot to take a picture!
The pork had been marinated perfectly to pick up all the goodness of the yummy homemade BBQ sauce, then warmed under an open flame to a slight crispiness (nice touch). The BBQ sauce was a homemade recipe. The crispy onion straws and pickles were a great addition. The owner told me the ketchup is homemade as well, and they don’t add sugar to either sauce.
My daughter really enjoyed her Pub Burger. They had homemade beef tallow fries which would have been a lovely accompaniment, and smelled delicious, but we decided to skip the extra calories this time.
The atmosphere is authentic pub, likely in a historic building. The wood was beautiful, lighting perfect, and just kind of made you feel at home. If I lived locally I would frequent this pub often. There is a bar at the front of the restaurant which would be a great place to come and hangout.
The service was top notch. The owner, a lovely young man, came to check on us, and chat. We spoke on the way out and he told me all about the homemade sauces and meat sourcing.
If you are in the area visiting breweries and wineries I highly recommend you stop here for a meal. Historic Scottsville is charming and also has fun coffee houses and shops. Worth the drive folks!

So so grateful this restaurant has come to Scottsville. My wife and I got tired of the same old places in the surrounding areas and wanted to try something new. Wow, we were not disappointed in the least. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm. The staff and owner were amazing and so kind. The food was fresh and delicious! Nothing processed here!!! They don’t even use processed sugar for a sweetener, they use honey! We started with the deviled eggs and the steak soup followed by the pub burger and the Steak/frites. We will be regulars here for sure! This has been our experience from our point of view so I highly recommend to go and try them for yourself. Enjoy

Meaningfully sourced ingredients from our local community, even in the dead of winter. Finding a family restaurant with ingredients sourced with integrity is hard to find anywhere. Its very cool to see it happening in Scottsville. Nick, Greg, and rest of the team welcomed us in for our first meal, with kindness and upbeat energy. The food was very flavorful with good portions, and the menu had more than its fair share of healthy options. Beef tallow fries are brilliant. Local seasonal salad was a nice find. Delicious meat. Nothing to complain about here! We’ll be back.

We took a day trip from the RVA to Scottsville and specifically dined at the Red Rose Pub (RRP). It did not disappoint! The Brunch Menu was available. This venue is farm-to-table and locally owned. The Brunch Menu was provided with distinct and varied selections of fare that were appropriate for the restaurant. I had the Steak and Eggs and my wife had the Eggs Benedict. The steak was tasty, the eggs were fresh, the potatoes were on point. The Eggs Benedict were equal to the task. Both meals were prepared to perfection. To order either one would not disappoint.
The wait staff was efficient, pleasant, and provided appropriate attention to our party. We did meet the owner Nick as he checked on us after we finished the meal. The RRP is a reflection of his attention to detail, his commitment to service, and the diligence that is required to operate the running a great restaurant.

We stopped in for lunch and loved this place! It’s basics done right- the menu has your typical american foods like French toast, steak and eggs etc for breakfast, chicken sandwich, burger, wings, grilled cheese and such for lunch. We ordered two different burgers and the beef tallow fries, along with chicken wings. The burgers were great, fries were cooked absolutely perfectly, the wings were crispy with the right amount of sauce. The menu has local ingredients and the meats served aren’t pumped full of junk, which I really appreciate. The restaurant is comfortable, the dining area, bathroom, entry were exceptionally clean, which is a huge deal to me. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly, too, which adds to the experience. We will for sure be coming back and look forward to what Red Rose has in store.

They actually served two and a half pieces of bacon to me with this sloppy display of eggs. It came with today that I didn’t order, and there were no bread options given. The toast was thick and placed over the bacon. The bacon was extra thin. The server seemed irritated that we were there. The coffee was burnt.

Huge shout-out to Nick Petro and Chef Dale Ford for bringing the Red Rose Pub to Scottsville. My friends and I went for dinner with high hopes and left completely impressed—every single one of us cleaned our plates.
The food was outstanding and tasted incredibly fresh, like it came from a kitchen that truly cares about what they’re putting on the table. Highly recommend the pub burger, ravioli, salads, fries, honey cake, and the winter squash crème brûlée (don’t skip dessert).
