Hilligans Sports Bar opened in 2009. Directly next to Western Kentucky University’s campus we cater to local Hilltopper sports fans. We are your spot for all WKU related sporting events. We carry most sports television packages and show college football, NFL, college basketball, NBA, NHL, MLB and more! In addition to sports we have an active nightly atmosphere as we’re open until 2:00am every day. We have a full kitchen and bar with a wide variety of menu options and plenty of beers on tap.

I haven’t been here in over 6 years, to say I was surprised by the menu update is putting it mild. I won’t describe before, but now their menu shines. The menu is not overwhelming, but I found it hard to decide regardless. I had the pepperoni chips w/ ranch dipping sauce, unique and delicious. Next a couple taco options I found well prepared and tasty. Last, I had the Hilly Cheesesteak Scoops, a different cut of potato, truly awesome. All of this was washed down with great beers on tap, sorry, no children allowed. It has a great sports bar atmosphere and plenty of room for gatherings of all sizes. It will not be another 6 years before I return!

Food was good but service was slow. We ordered an appetizer of chicken wings but they were brought to us with our food – which was about 30 minutes after we ordered them. We believe they purposely overcharged us for two items – about 20% more. We never got the bill and when we asked to see the detailed receipt, the bartender told us she didn’t have the ability to get us an itemized receipt until we paid – seriously!? They charged our CC the full amount and gave us a cash refund for probably the correct amount..

Typical college bar located within walking distance of WKU campus. This establishment has two bars, a patio area, full kitchen, makes pizza, dance floor, booths and tables for dining in and a pool table. I have not tried the food, but I saw a few items and they looked good. If you go Thursday through the weekend be prepared to see the college crowds. The staff and managers were friendly, had good drink deals and a dj was there about 10. Also, if you go at night be prepared to show id as they check and will turn you away (witnessed it). I will go again and try some food, but I will probably visit during the “early” hours and leave the night hours to the college kids .

I came here with a friend for the first time in a while and unfortunately my experience was not what I was expecting. It was considerably worse than the first time I came here, when I actually had a really nice time. The food was decent, so I’ll give them that, but the overall vibe and atmosphere was just really off. It’s like you can tell the employees don’t like working there, I don’t know if it’s a personal motivation thing or if they don’t like working for their manager, I don’t know for sure if they hired someone new but the place just doesn’t run as smoothly as it did before. There was a heavily tattooed woman with glasses who I hadn’t ever seen prior and when I went to inquire she was very inconsiderate and kinda just pushed me off. Not great customer service skills. The place was also messier which at the end of the day it’s a sports bar it’s not THAT big of a deal but it was something to note. I don’t know if something’s going on with the management or the owners or whoever but the place seems to have gotten worse over time which sucks because I really liked my experience when I first came here.

Best bar in town everytime i go to Hilligans it is always a great experience. The food and atmosphere is fantastic and the workers are super nice and professional. 10/10 recommend if you are visiting Bowling Green and looking for a place to have a good time
