As a treat for finishing the school year, I took my two young kids to Rise Espresso & Dough Co. for the first time on Friday, June 13, 2025. We arrived during a huge rush so we stood in a long line (which is actually a good sign). We finally got to the front and ordered three donuts—one for each of us. My 8-year-old and 5-year-old each got a Reese’s bar and I got myself an apple fritter. The fritter is baked in an extra large size and I lucked out by getting the last one. The lady who took our order was enthusiastic, kind, and bubbly—I really appreciated her hospitality and her willingness to give us a water cup. The total came to $12 which is a little pricey but to be fair, that was the exact same price we paid for three donuts when we were up north a few weeks ago and visited Retro Donuts.
We ate our donuts inside the shop. It is a very clean and inviting space with durable/high quality tables. The donuts were good. I think I actually liked the kids’ Reese’s bars better than my fritter. The peanut butter icing/topping was really good and the freshness was superior. My fritter was gigantic and I was able to take half of it home to my wife. Now that the Valley Causal Friday Donuts is closed, we will definitely visit Rise again. The product is good and being served by a kind staff is always motivation for me to return again.

The staff was incredibly helpful and kind (especially Albany). Delicious donuts with the best chai I have ever tasted. 100% recommended.

I was excited for a gluten free donut. I had a chocolate one with maple frosting. It was really dense, lacked glaze and tasted oddly bitter or something. I also expected a cake style donut to be much sweeter. Super friendly staff even though they were busy. I might try them again in like six months. They might have had an off day.

Got a dozen on a Saturday around 9:30 or 10 am. It was almost 30$ and for the flavor of the donuts it seemed pretty steep. They had a super weird off taste like disinfectant or bad oil. Everyone in the house agreed that they just didn’t taste quite right. We got some jelly filled, chocolate, maple bars and a few chocolate sprinkled and each one had that off flavor to them. Was even worse when I tried warming mine up. I’ll give them another try someday and edit this review if the flavor is better next time.

This is such a great shop. The regular doughnuts are HUGE and apparently delicious (I cannot eat myself) and their gluten free menu is always on point. They recently added breakfast sandwiches that are gluten free and they’re so delicious and safe! They are always reassuring when making gluten free items safe for people with celiac. 100% recommend!

Amazing gluten free treats! Rise is my go to for specialty pastries for friends and family with dietary restrictions. I especially appreciate how they accept orders up to the day before pickup, while other bakeries require at least 48 hours of notice. I can’t recommend their gluten free banana chocolate chip muffins enough. You can’t even tell they are gluten free. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating as well.

Absolutely divine! I am gluten and dairy free and I haven’t been able to eat a cinnamon role in about six years!! This is the first bakery I’ve ever been to that I was able to and it was incredible plus NOT ridiculously priced! The staff is so friendly and so helpful! I was so impressed by this bakery!

Great coffee experience! I was greeted outside and again upon entering by a different employee. So many tasty options. I picked the pumpkin harvest latte and a maple bismark filled with buttercream. WARNING!!! It is REALLY GOOD! Both were amazing. The store was very clean. I will definitely be back!
