Taqueria Catrinas is a very good neighborhood taco spot that knows exactly what it is. The guacamole and tacos are top notch, with the shrimp tacos being the clear standout, and portions are generous enough that you won’t leave hungry. The flavors are fresh and well executed, even if the place isn’t aiming for anything upscale.
The quesadillas are not what you’d expect. They’re closer to fried cheese than a traditional quesadilla, which some people may love, but it’s worth knowing before you order. The table salsas are a miss, easily a C-, and don’t do the food any favors. The churros are borderline dangerous, coming out extremely hot, and I managed to burn myself, so handle with care. There are no fountain sodas and no alcohol, though it appears to be BYOB, which actually works well given the casual setup. Service was friendly and helpful, a solid B+.
Parking is easy right next door, though the surrounding retail strip is a bit rough. Expect about $25 per person. This is a great option for a casual dinner or a very informal date night where food matters more than atmosphere. Overall, it’s a strong 4.4 rounded down to a 4, and yes, I’d happily go back.

It’s a small place but a must…. .The food is vibrant, savory and flavorful. The presentation is artfully placed. This place is a hidden gem . I will make the drive from Irving to eat here. The tinga tostada they give (free) you as appetizer is delicious. The shrimp tacos are my favorite. But honestly I’ve tried many dishes and all have been amazing.

Let me tell you something, ive traveled to every single corner of texas, this place used to be a food truck, but they know how to cook authentic, real food, straight out of a food truck, this place is THE BEST Taco place in Dallas BY FAR. honestly in texas. Fresh meat, fresh everything, all the way down to the pinto beans. Just perfect. I took my wife here on her birthday on a whim, we were treated so well too. The waitresses are kind and caring. Everyone here loves food just as much as I do. Made me happy and loved.

Speechless at how amazing this restaurant is. The service was extremely fast, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the FOOD may have been the best I’ve had in my life. Best Mexican food I’ve had since moving here. Pricing was great and will be back soon. Hidden gem. Great service! Once you have the complementary tostada, you know you are going to have some real good food. I had the chicken enchiladas and a shrimp taco.

Great flavors and great food without breaking the bank! The tacos are great and are all you really need to get. Would be a 5/5 just with the tacos! Their ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the accompanying dips and sauces were a great match. There was also a little complimentary mini taco that came out as an appetizer that was delicious.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of also ordering chicken flautas which had dry, tough, and old chicken. Might be my fault for ordering more than just tacos but I think restaurants are responsible for what’s on their menu, which is why it’s a 4/5.
