Nestled in a beautiful and bustling shopping area in Opelika, The Breezeway boasts a wonderfully convenient location perfect for a lunch break. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out – the staff was genuinely friendly and patiently answered all my questions, making me feel very welcome.
The menu offers classic American lunch fare. I opted for the grilled chicken fingers and one of their specialty sandwiches. Both dishes were exactly what I was craving – satisfying, well-prepared, and they truly hit the spot. As much as I would love to say good things about this place I just can’t. 1. The food was basic and over priced. 2. The restaurant is so out dated and not clean it almost made me leave but we had already ordered. 3. They can’t even give condiments with out charging. 4. The food was nothing to rave about small chicken tenders and dry fry’s and the wings were ok but that’s about it.
My opinion is go here with low expectations and expect below decent food and don’t expect it to be cheap either we had 4 people and it cost us about $60 for fry’s and wings.
Yes we ate our food but I just had better expectations for this place based off what I read and was very disappointed all together.

Their chicken was delicious, especially the grilled. My husband rates places by their coleslaw and this one was a winner! The staff cared very much about our satisfaction and seemed to take pride in the restaurant.

I can’t believe I’ve never eaten at The Breezeway until today. What a hidden gem! Didn’t know they’ve been around for almost 3 decades in Opelika!! The owner found out we’d never been there before and wanted us to sample their signature chicken fingers and brought out fried and grilled ones for all of us. OMG! I have honestly never tasted a piece of chicken that delicious!! It was so juicy and tender and seasoned to perfection! I can’t believe I was actually raving over a chicken tender! It was absolutely, insanely delicious! We also had fried shrimp, fried green beans, salads and sandwiches. It was all amazing. The owner, Gena, was a sweetheart! She says that we must try the catfish when we come back. And the bread pudding. It’s a date and can’t wait to go back!

The Breezeway has the best grilled chicken fingers around. They do pretty good wings too. Recommend getting something from the lunch menu, if you are on a budget. Salads are a little pricey, and you have to all for certain add-ons, for an extra price. Overall, great place for a quick lunch.

EXCELLENT food, EXCELLENT customer service and Southern hospitality, and EXCELLENT value for your money! The hostess, maybe the owner? offered us free boneless tenders sample with 3 different sauces when she found it it was it first time there ever, and it was great. Loved the grilled ones best but everything else we had (Breezeway club, grilled chicken tenders basket, chocolate cake, white chocolate bread pudding) was lovely too!
My daughter is still wondering what the recipe is for that bread pudding, said it was the BEST she’s ever had!
Soon as we walked out someone else was asking us down the street if we knew anywhere around there to eat cause they were starving! Pointed them immediately to this restaurant knowing they will be well taken care of on all counts! Husband loves the vibe and the food, reminds him of him in the old towns of Eastern Europe! ❤️

I am thrilled to have found a great restaurant so quickly that has a friendly staff and incredible food. Cheers to the cashier who gave us great recommendations and was courteous from start to finish. Big shout out to the cook too, the chicken fingers were not your ordinary fried experience, both grilled or fried was cooked to perfection and retained great flavors!

Really good flavored grilled chicken strip and hot fries with amazing spicy Mayo to dip. My chicken salad sandwich was very good. .would have been better if the bread were warm, but it was cold. Still good tasting. I noticed the bill was high when they told me the final price. Cashier charged us for 2 drinks, I told him I didn’t order any drinks. He the. Replied “you don’t want anything to drink”, I said no. He could not change the total on the register, he had to do it on calculator. And this was before I paid. It was kinda odd.
