Reviews
The whole place has that classic Margaritaville vibe — colorful décor, great music, and a relaxed, tropical feel that instantly puts you in vacation mode. The lighting and riverfront views at night added an extra touch of magic to the experience. You can hear the sound of the water flowing by while live music plays in the background — it’s the perfect combo for winding down after a long day of sightseeing.
The food was excellent. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price. We tried a couple of their signature entrées and appetizers, and everything hit the spot. The flavors were bold but balanced, and you could tell the kitchen puts care into the details. The drinks were equally great — classic Margaritaville cocktails that were mixed perfectly and served quickly. Whether you go for a margarita, a frozen drink, or something non-alcoholic, there’s something for everyone.
Our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and clearly enjoyed their job. They checked in just the right amount, made great recommendations, and kept everything running smoothly without making us feel rushed. That’s something we really appreciated, especially since it was later in the evening and the staff could have easily been winding down for the night.
The atmosphere was upbeat but still comfortable — lots of laughter, good music, and people just enjoying themselves. It’s a great place for couples, families, or groups of friends to relax and have fun. The River Walk location makes it even better — you can walk off dinner with a stroll along the water afterward, which is exactly what we did.
Overall, Margaritaville San Antonio was a highlight of our evening. Great service, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and zero wait time — it doesn’t get much better than that. Whether you’re a local or visiting like we were, it’s definitely worth stopping by. The combination of atmosphere, flavor, and fun makes it a perfect spot to kick back and soak in those vacation vibes.
Started with a Bahama Mama ($12 rum based) and The Perfect Margarita ($14.50, on the rocks). The Bahama Mama was good, the ‘perfected’ margarita was way over exaggerated.
We just ordered to share the Trio appetizer. $22. Caribbean eggrolls, Buffalo dip, and chicken tenders, with chips and sauces. All was adequate. The tenders were probably the best, the Buffalo dip probably the least exciting.
Over all the bill was $55. I didn’t appreciate the recommended tip options at the bottom of the portable register screen.
Typically Margaritaville atmosphere, with the music a touch too loud.
The service was disappointing. I was greeted politely and seated, but after sitting for some time, other guests came in, were seated, and were helped right away.
No one ever came to my table to take an order, so I eventually left. I understand being busy, but the place was nearly empty.
I won’t be returning.
This restaurant really serves the tourist crowd and the wait staff knows what it’s doing.
The cheeseburger in Paradise was a really good cheeseburger. The onion rings were also very good but an upcharge.
The burger was solid, with decent flavor and a classic build, but nothing too out of the ordinary. What really elevated the experience was the refreshing sweet tea and the unbeatable view of the River Walk a relaxing, scenic spot to enjoy a meal and take in the San Antonio vibe.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect: laid-back, fun, and full of beachy charm, with friendly service to match.
Cocktails. And as per usual, their margs never disappoint. I got the Jalapeño Business and my husband got the frozen rum runner. Both cold and delicious on a hot Texas afternoon. We got the key lime pie to share and it was good. Had better but it was definitely good for a sweet and sour sweet treat. Bar tender was quiet. Nice and professional but not much personable attention. We were the only customers at the bar too. So over all I’d give it 3.5/5 stars. Just because the cocktails were exactly what we were looking for.
They handle food allergies with care. Loved that!
Pets are allowed at this location. We did not have pets, but several patrons brought their dogs in and the team was fine with that.
Only two dessert options
Not authentic Tex Mex
Service was good
