Absolutely loved The Bair Drug & Hardware! We came with friends and young kids and had the best experience.
The building is beautifully restored with displays from its post office, hardware, and pharmacy history—so charming and fun to look at. The food was AMAZING. One of our friends is gluten-free and said the gluten-free biscuits and gravy were some of the best she’s ever had, and everyone else loved their meals too.
The owner waited on us and was so sweet and welcoming. Between the history, the cuteness, and the incredible food, this place is a total gem. Can’t wait to go back!

Such a quaint little restaurant tucked in the old Hardware Store located on the Main Street through Steilacoom. The service is exceptional, the menu has a variety of options for breakfast and lunch. We have been there many times for breakfast and have enjoyed the food. Today my husband had the steak, egg, and potatoes while I had the spiced chicken scramble made into a burrito. We will definitely return!

We were visiting the Northwest in August 2025 and our group — 3 couples who have been friends for about 30 years —stopped here to get ice cream cones. The ice cream is divine, the building evokes memories of our childhood because we’re all in our late 60s to mid 70s and we had buildings of this era. Absolutely beautiful wood and quaint decor. The ladies who waited on us were delightful, and we loved the huckleberry ice cream. It was such a fun day together and we made more wonderful memories together. One of our group members (Mike) was gracious enough to pose so everyone could see what we were eating.

A wonderful place to eat, the owner (I assume) was so sweet and funny, very personable. The food was amazing, you could taste the love of what they do, presented in a no nonsense way. The mimosa flight wss delightful, ask her to surpise you. You are surrounded by the history of building which brings a relaxing nostalgic vibe. Fantastic! Thank you.

Great history while you dine. Service was good, a little more checking in would have been better. Waitress forgot part of the order but apologized after realizing it halfway through our meal. Food was very tasty, I’ll come back again.

I think this is a very great restaurant with lots of history behind it. The gary breakfast was super delicious and the sausage was really delicious.

If you are gluten free, RUN HERE. Top notch food. But the gluten free biscuits and sausage? Best I’ve ever had. Those biscuits? Chef’s kiss. 10/10 recommend. I’m already dreaming about the next time I’ll eat here.

When I think of grilled cheese, I tend to think of toasted bread and melted cheese. See picture for details. Not only was the grilled cheese not grilled or toasted, but the waitress seemed bothered and uninterested in welcoming us or checking in on us. Fries were soggy and some were undercooked. Grilled cheese was about $9 and didn’t include any side. For $5 you can add fries and 3+ add tomato and bacon. Received no refills our entire visit and weren’t even asked if we wanted anything.
I’ve been wanting to visit this restaurant and I will definitely not be back or recommending this to others.

We took family in and tried this for the first time; Inc four kids aged 2-11. Had the burger, BLT, biscuits & gravy, berry tartine, waffles, eggs, bacon and EVERYTHING was very good. Great value for the amount and quantity of food.

Tried The Bair for the first time and was impressed! I had the salmon lox (Stelliacoom) omelet, and it was hands-down one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve had. The service was friendly and fast, and the staff made me feel right at home. Loved the old-fashioned decor too—gave the place a warm, nostalgic feel. I’ll be back!
