Highly recommend this historical diner. The reason I won’t divulge (read the back of the menu). The food portions you will not go hungry. Delicious … we had the 3 egg omelet, Spinach, King of Hearts, and Asparagus. The biscuits and the fresh homemade jam do not pass this up!
No reservations are taken ever. When going with a group make sure everyone is there so you can get seated.
Adam was our server and he is a gentle giant with great attention to detail and customer service. Definitely ask for him!

Cute diner. Absolutely love that its on some random mountain path and theres beautiful mountains on all sides. Would be great to sit outside during warmer season but still nice to have a window booth and look at the snow like I did. Got the pulled pork Benedict that our server recommended and it was delicious. My bf got eggs, bacon, sausage and hash. Quick and fast service. Delicious hearty breakfast. They also gave free biscuits that were nice and fluffy.

Ruth’s was such a great stop; located perfectly between SLC and Park. We ordered the smoked salmon salad which was good. The reuben sandwich was delicious and I highly recommend! The biscuits were a great starter too. The aesthetic is barely changed since it’s opening. Great vibe and great servers.

Ruth’s Diner, a cute and quaint restaurant off Immigration Canyon toward East Canyon, is a charming, rustic restaurant. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio where we sat near heaters as we were served our delicious salads all while listening to the sound of running water near by.
Great for dates or groups. Outstanding service. Beautiful drive. Highly recommend.

On our recent visit to Salt Lake City, we searched Google Maps to find a restaurant no too far from us. From the reviews, Ruth’s Diner sounded like a solid choice.

While the restaurant has a certain charm and story, we were overall underwhelmed by our visit.

The huge biscuits were quite a treat, but we spent more time battling flies than comfortably enjoying our meal.

My wife and I split a fried chicken sandwich which was “okay.” Tasted fine, just thin on the meat.

They did not have Splenda (which in this day and age I just don’t understand), but ordered an ice tea anyway. The waitress didn’t tell me beforehand the only tea they have was black mint. As a Texan, that just didn’t work for me.

We finished off the meal with their peach and blueberry cobbler. It was much more ice cream and whipped cream than cobbler. Tasted okay, what few bites there were.

I’m sure they do a great job on breakfast, but for a mid afternoon lunch, it was no more than “meh.”

Wonderful spot celebrating about 100 years providing wonderful food and great service in an amazing (updated and expanded) trolley car. Definitely worth the beautiful drive up into the mountains.

Absolutely worth the splurge! Service was phenomenal and the good was next level! My husband ordered the filet mignon and you could cut it like a pancake. I got the bbq salmon and I’d recommend it every time. The calamari was by far the best I’ve ever had and as always the sweet potatoe casserole was basically a dessert. Love this place and was perfect for celebrating our anniversary.

One of my absolute favorites of all time. The ambiance. Driving up the canyon. The wooded area. The small dinner feel. The outdoor seating. The biscuits. It is all pure magic. If you are in SLC you must go. My kids love the pancakes. I love the omelettes and frittatas. I tried a San Francisco sandwich and it was amazing. I love their pinto beans. Just go. Have your magical time travel back to the 1940s and soak up every minute.

Meh. Not impressed. For the insane drive TO the restaurant I was not happy at all. My order was simple – 2 eggs scrambled w cheese and jalapenos. It came wrong. The biscuit, which was given to me as soon as I sat down AND what everyone raved about was O-L-D. Like days and days old. Dry and well, frankly I couldn’t even eat more than a bite. Several people, myself included, wanted to sit outside (it was a GORGEOUS morning) and while they were seating people outside – they did say they had a TON of bees/wasps so we had to decided inside or out knowing that. I opted for inside and my waitress was….well I ended up with several, which was confusing. I was in/out in about 30 mins. Unfortunately, could not recommend. The drive was nice and the view (the side of a mountain) was fine but it would be a nope for me – if asked.

Wonderful history with this diner. Go online and read about Ruth, she was quite a character. We sat in the original diner with it’s barrel ceiling. The club sandwich hit the spot after a 6 hour drive in from Wyoming. The French Fries were killer, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mile high roll you get were delicious. Katie, our server, was friendly and attentive.
