What a great gem this cafe is! I’m in the state for work and one of my coworkers and I stopped here for lunch while we were in the area visiting a customer.
The place clean, the staff are welcoming, and there is plenty to choose from on the menu. Except the chicken salad…they were out. You probably have to get there early for it.?.? I heard several people asking for it.
I had a club sandwich with fries and a ranch dressing. No complaints on any of my food- the ranch dressing was homemade and very good.
My coworker had a bbq sandwich topped with slaw and hush puppies. She really liked her meal too.
The food came out fresh, hot, and very quickly.
I highly recommend this spot off the beaten path if you are in the area. I hope to work up here again so I can stop by.

Can’t say enough about Howard-Dooley Cafe. Family-owned and friendly atmosphere. It’s very different than the average greasy spoon. Great food, different options, smoked meats, and great desserts.

We were on a weekend trip. First time up this way and our AirBnB host suggested we visit. We were not disappointed! We had the crab cake sandwich, one with potato salad and one with cucumber salad. DELICIOUS!! Try to go early, it filled up fast!

Stopped in for breakfast while staying in Gwynn Island. Food was delicious and service was friendly and quick. Lunch menu looked solid–heard the fried chicken was the real deal. Great spot if you have a sweet tooth as they had plenty of desserts to choose from. Only downside is they close at 2pm.

Enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here. The food is awesome. The staff is welcoming, and the place is clean. Prices are fair, portions are large. You can’t go wrong here. Also want to mention I had the best clam strips I’ve ever had at this restaurant. A++++++

We had breakfast there with friendly people. We sat inside then realized that there was a table outside where we could get the dog out of the car and be with us The waiter brought the dog a bowl of water .other than eggs being over cooked and sausage was cooked more then I care for the food had good taste. Before we left the parking lot got full for lunch rush they have BBQ.
