Sometimes the best places are the ones you didn’t expect. La Veinte wasn’t on my radar at all, despite staying at one of the towers in the complex, but man am I thrilled that I came across it. I’m an adventurous diner but my companions are as narrow as you can get, and yet everyone found the food fantastic. Our server Leo was a huge highlight; it’s clear his suggestions weren’t just upsells (credit to the management for not pushing that) but actual knowledgeable recommendations that took our preferences into account.

The Tostadas de Atun were mentioned as a top seller and I can see why; flavorful, a great combination of textures, and outstandingly fresh. The Lobster Poblano Dip was rich, cheesy, and creamy, and my Brazino a la Talla was simultaneously crispy out the outside while staying flaky, juicy, and tender on the inside. The drinks were large, the service was outstandingly attentive (including some great conversations with Alvaro, the manager), and the atmosphere on the waterfront with the breeze blowing in was perfect for a relaxing night out.

We went for dinner a bit early (around 6PM) on a Wednesday, and the place was quite slow, so I doubt you would have a problem being seated immediately without a reservation (the weekend apparently gets crazy and goes until 1AM or later!)

Price wise, the place obviously isn’t cheap. It’s Miami, this was expected. What I will say is, regardless of the bill, we walked out stuffed, and that’s after choosing to stay away from some of the larger entrees. 20% is added to the bill automatically at the end (Leo deserved that and more, imo), which I could see irking some. However, nearly every dish and especially the drinks were generously proportioned, so this won’t be a case of spending a ton and walking out hungry, trust me.

I highly suggest trying this place out if you are in the area, we had a blast and it may turn out that a place entirely off of my radar winds up being the best of my trip.

Cantina La Veinte is a beautiful restaurant located in Brickell right next to the W. They have convenient valet parking right in front of the restaurant. There is an upstairs indoor space with a beautiful bar, but downstairs is so whimsical. The water view is beautiful and the open air environment was perfect. We were out on a cooler night and they had heaters available as well. We were a table of 12 and everyone was very happy with their dishes. We started out with guacamole and chips, tuna tostadas, queso fundido and short rib flautas. Half of the table ate family style and shared several dishes, and the other half of the table ordered their own. Everyone enjoyed their options. I had the octopus which was good and my margarita was perfect. We really enjoyed listening to the live music with the strolling mariachi entertainers. We were there on a weeknight so it was not as crowded, and we did not feel rushed at all. We really enjoyed our time at the restaurant.

I had mixed expectations after having been to their location in CDMX (which is amazing). I was curious to see how well the flavors, atmosphere, and service would be replicated here in Miami. I can now say that I was very pleasantly surprised!

On this occassion we were a party of 20+, and yet service was on point (great)! Food was served sharing style, as a (big back) heavy eater, even for me, its plenty of food, and its all delicious!

The ribeye tacos and gordita appetizer were my favorite.

The ambiance is beautiful, the proximity and view of the river is a welcome feature, great for pictures!

I rated ambiance low because it is just unbearably loud. We were a party of 20 but adjacent to us there was a party of about 40+ doing a gift exchance, they’re entitled to have their fun, but wow it was so loud.

Parking: valet is easy and fast, though pricey.

This is my first time in Miami and was recommended this restaurant. EVERYONE WAS SO GREAT!! From the hostess to the manager always checking in on everyone. But the waitress Elizabeth was phenomenal! I told her was about my strict diet due to diverticulosis and she made sure to check with the chefs before I ordered, it was so warm hearted!!! 10 outta 10 recommend with the ocean view at night!!

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and once we were seated, the ambiance really stood out. The live mariachi was a great touch and added a lot to the atmosphere. The drinks were overall very good, and most of the food was great; the short rib risotto was the clear standout. Unfortunately, the octopus was a letdown.

Service, however, was inconsistent. At the bar, attention was just okay, but we were ultimately charged for a vodka upgrade we did not request or approve. We ordered directly from the menu handed to us, which listed a clear price, made no vodka preference, and were not informed of any substitution or upcharge beforehand, which was disappointing. At the table, our waiter was a bit dry and transactional and moved through the order quickly without much interaction. We had what we needed, but didn’t feel the service matched the price point of the place.

Overall, there’s a lot of potential here; beautiful decor, strong drinks, and some great dishes, but the service issues held the experience back a bit.

The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. The armchair are comfortable and waiter was friendly and polite.

Dinner was queso fundido with mushrooms which are brought in a hot skillet. Flavor is mild yet full-bodied. It resembles a provoleta. It comes with tortillas to be filled with it.

The Malbec glass amount was not memorable, as the adjacent table’s margarita seem to be.

It’s a pricey place but delivers quality and a fine experience.
