I had a fantastic experience at Casa de Lago in Oak View! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Green Salad, a Bowl of Soup, and Hard Tacos — each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The salad was crisp with a refreshing dressing, the soup was hearty and comforting, and the tacos had the perfect crunch with delicious fillings. Everything was absolutely delicious. I also discovered they offer a “Taco Tuesday” special, making it a great spot for midweek dining. We visit Casa de Lago a few times per year when we’re heading to Lake Casitas. It’s always a welcomed treat! They have the BEST Cadillac Margaritas, great salsa, food is good, and servers are friendly. It’s a small restaurant, often very busy, so you can’t be in a hurry; but it’s worth it!

Total comfort food. The lightest tamales I’ve ever had. The chili rellenos were super fluffy too. Got the Machaca, asada and carnita taco. Wish they had a vegetarian tamales. I recommend al a carte to try lots of their dishes. The beans and rice were super good too.

One of my favorite mexican restaurants in the county. Closest I’ve seen in California to the traditional ‘Tex-Mex’ I miss from Texas. The ‘spicy’ salsa is not, it’s just delicious. I love the enchilada tamale combo with rice and beans. The whole plate is basically covered with enchilada sauce. Yum!! Been coming her for years and the food is always prepared the same. There is a lot to be said for consistency.
