Not sure who called it at this location but my friend’s car was impounded when we sat down for 45 minutes. The company that impounded our car, Demauro Towing, said the address registered with this came from a number associated here. Not sure what we did incorrectly, we just ordered some standard stuff from their menu and sat down. We weren’t noisy or disrespectful. Anyways, if you think you are paying $10, chances are you are also going to pay for the $145 impounding fee. Wonder what set off the owner/employees here.

PROS: This is a local town bar where all the Cresskill residents go to. It has a pool table, very clean, good amount of parking, decent prices for the drinks too
CONS: this bar was not observing covid at all. Everybody, including the bartender was without the mask, no capacity restrictions, no social distancing. Also, its very small inside and they don’t serve food
OVERALL: If you just want to grab a beer then come here but if you’re looking for a safe and more open spaced bar with food this is not the bar for you

I write reviews of bars and taverns across New York, Delaware, and New Jersey, and this bar would be perfectly acceptable if the owner was generous enough to buy back a beer after a couple of drinks. But he does not buy back at all which is the first time I have ever heard of that. That is really poor business. He also claims that a beer on tap is more money than a bottle of beer. I asked him the owner if he has ever served alcohol before. Yeah you guys are sacrifice and I told him he doesn’t understand the first thing about running a bar. He came across as a rather unintelligent owner. Someone needs to explain to this man how to run a bar. And after reading nearly three dozen reviews it occurred to me that he is obviously posting his own reviews. Because this bar is worth two stars at best. I also learned that he recently threw out two of his best patrons because they drank too much one day. A great way to lose good business. My advice for the new owner is go to bartending school.

A great place to chill out and not as crazy as other bars, unless the bartenders and the patron’s favorite team plays . I lived in Cresskill for pretty much all of my life, and I don’t know why I never went here. I wish they had food because the name “Cresskill Tavern” is pretty misleading; other than that, it’s a great place, and so far, I have yet to see any negatives.
