I been sick after eating the ordered a chicken tamale that was so soggy that the banana leaf wrapped around it sunk beneath the tamale. It was completely unrecognizable and unpalatable. I also ordered two beef empanadas and received two chicken empanadas – both of them had a piece of rib bone in it. Also, the outside was burnt on one side. Also, when I went inside to pick up my order.

I always try to support local businesses instead of the chain restaurants but I will not be returning to Gloria Luz.

I got the food delivered. I suggest they change the fryer oil. Everything was over cooked, burnt, except for the papusa. And the “honey” is straight up maple syrup. Maybe a bad day for them? But at least everything is made from scratch- I could tell that much. So maybe it was an off day. Change yr fryer oil guys.

The food is great. I ordered Papusas and soupa de Rez.
Really delicious and hit the spot!
They also have a little market and I was able to buy couple of giant bottles of Mexican Coca Cola which beats American coke hands down as they still use real sugar in their recipe!

The best food ever! I would eat here everyday if I could… You would think papusas are very simple to make and I have had papusas from many different restaurants but the papusa from here have to be the best I have tasted (they have some secret recipe surely)

I also ordered Sopes with steak and chicken… I ate every last bit of everything they served me and I am so full I could not stop eating because everything tasted great.

Pretty good TIENDA. They have the meats and the cheeses and the pan. Pretty nice.
There were a swarm of flies that followed me though the TIENDA. I swear they were conspiring to all pick me up with their tiny little wings and fly me around the TIENDA. Either way didnt happen.
I bought a motor and pestle so I could grind up some peppers I grew to make a devil powder.
Ever have powdered ghost pepper? Wear a mask when you find it up, or you’ll throw up.
Ok

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. They have the worst food in town. I ordered a seafood soup and that thing didn’t taste like seafood, it tasted more like water. My girlfriend ordered some gorditas and hurt her stomach.

This place has the best, most authentic tacos in the Northern Virginia / Washington, DC area. It is Salvadorian, but they serve authentic Mexican food as well.

I know real Mexican food: I lived in San Diego, CA and San Antonio, TX; I’ve visited Mexico several times (cities and country side)…this place does the cuisine justice.

Order the Carne Asada tacos (medium rare) with onions and cilantro on corn tortilla ..it will change your life!
