Spectacular food. Call ahead for reservations…. It’s small and they stay full. Best old fashioned I’ve ever had. Service was good; not great. But we were there late and I think our server was just exhausted. We sat outside (was a lovely, full moon night) and the other diners out there (locals) were so friendly, it felt like we were all family! The shrimp toast app is mouth-watering wonderful. Peanut brittle in arugula salad…. Who’d ‘a thought??? But it was auh-MAZE-ing! Partner’s lamb shank entree was a very generous portion and perfectly seasoned. And the-three dessert sampler for $10? You honestly cannot go wrong, and each was a masterpiece. I wish I could go back every night to try everything on the menu. I’ve attached pictures but they really don’t do justice to this fabulous culinary experience! Final note for night owls… Though they close at ten, they seat people up till then, and they don’t make you feel rushed, even if you arrive shortly before closing. A rare treat!

I must start by saying that the Pumpkin Spice Waffles with Candied Walnuts & Whipped Cream Cheese Icing were amazing. The Chicken tenders were just that tender and flavorful. Austin was quite an attentive server and easily accommodated our group.

Wonderful experience! Everything we had was excellent. Seasonal menu so everything was fresh. Be sure to ask how big the plates are, some small plates aren’t that small. Desserts were excellent as well. Got the tasting dessert which was big enough for 3 people! Prices are reasonable for fine dining. Reservations are recommended during peak hours. Only negative is the noise level can be quite loud.

We had a wonderful dinner at 247 Craven last Saturday night. Both the specials and the menu provided a variety of delicious options. They also customize your dishes and swap sides if needed – which was a nice touch. They were able to assist with choosing gluten free options that were great and did not disappoint. Highly recommend the 1. steak, 2. duck, 3. appetizers with buratta. Great wine selection as well.

Even in the midst of probably a pretty busy night before the BikeMS ride, they delivered excellent service to our party of 6. Good selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. Appetizers and entrees were served to temp and very tasty. Only regret is being too full to order dessert. Location was barely a 6 minute walk from the main venue of Union Point Park.

A small but very nice restaurant located in the historic section of downtown New Bern, NC. We had lunch with a menu that had a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, and soup. Most were innovative a different enough to make this a place to visit. The pimento cheese, bacon, and tomato sandwich and the portobello & red pepper sandwich are two examples. Some nice desserts too. The wait staff was nicely attentive.

Great place to eat in New Bern. Seating is limited and so is the atmosphere, but the food is spectacular. The menu writer is nowhere as good as the Chef. Things that sound very mundane on the menu are nothing short of spectacular when delivered to your table. (The menu writer would describe the Mona LIsa as picture of a woman. He just does not do justice to the excellent food at this establishment).

I can not say enough good stuff about the meals at this place. (Normally I would say the Menu, but the description do not capture the essence of the excellent food at this place).

My fiance and I came here on 1/6/18 after leaving other restaurants that had either a long wait time or was closing early due to the snow. We walked in and was immediately put off by the waiter asking us if we had a reservation despite the fact that the bar had plenty of seats and there were only 3 occupied tables. They were by no means too full to accommodate just two people. We told him we didn’t mind sitting at the bar. We ended up just ordering two drinks and passing on the food because the waiter was treating us as if we were a bother. We didn’t feel welcome there at all. After just ordering 2 drinks, the waiter gave us a check without even asking if we wanted another. Will most likely never eat here again or recommend to anyone in town. Very disappointed.

We did the chef’s choice. It was an incredible meal. We had a wonderful group of servers. It was a dark, cold, rainy and windy night but well worth the walk from our hotel. Technically, I think it was snowing…
