Wonderful pizza. My husband and I loved the fluffiness of the dough. Also, the portion sizes were huge! The picture below isn’t two slices…it’s one slice cut in half.
Service was great, quick and simple.
The atmosphere was pretty quiet overall, however the dining space was on the smaller side. We visited at a downtime and found parking on the street but it wasn’t easy.
I would highly recommend this place for the quality and the price of your meal.

Solid pizza spot in the East Village.
Enjoyed a thin crust cheese pizza and a Margherita pizza slice during happy hour. Both tasted fine however, the Margherita was better.
Sat outside with my pup and soaked up the sun rays.
Will be back in the future.

We got a few slices right before closing so selection was limited, but I have to say that I was quite impressed. The dough is almost like a focaccia, nice and springy with good olive oil. I will definitely be coming back!

My husband had an overnight work trip to San Diego and I tagged along. We checked into our apartment then while on the balcony, saw Square Pizza co clearly. We decided to stop by but after we got some Mexican food. What a waste of money on the Mexican food that we later tossed (ugh). We had filled up with the pizza we got at square!! We are hooked! The crust is phenomenal and has turned me biased to other pizza. It’s a crunchy deep dish crust that stays crunchy! And the cheese melted around the edges..(drool) makes the extra sauce on top even better!
This pizza spot is so good that my hubs and I have decided to do day trips to get some (lol)! My mouth drools just thinking about it. And the people who work here are welcoming and passionate about their pizza! Definitely a spot to try!

Their street advertising got me — pizza by the slice & cold beer I was warmly welcomed and served by an incredibly kind and generous staff. The pizza variations are unique and there’s a great assortment! There is something for everyone here. All the beer options pair perfectly with the pizza. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and perfect for solo, couple, and group visits. I had the Mustang pizza — absolutely incredible, highly recommend. Get the extra ranch on the side! I can’t wait to come back and try another variation. Will definitely be sharing this place with friends. This is an independent restaurant with a staff that deserves all the support and patronage of San Diego.

I ordered the Chevy. The flavors are bold, layered and perfectly balanced. Sometimes I’d get a shot of fennel after chewing on some sausage, or a blast of basil from the sauce, oregano slips in every so often as does the garlic, and when the taste of butter hits you as you crunch the perfectly cooked crust covered in caramelized cheese…. ahhhhh, now that’s a slice of heaven my friends!!!!
For the beer only crowd, you just can’t beat an ice cold stella draft for $4 from 2-6 to wash it down with.
And for those foodies out there, I might try paring a glass of Ruffino gold label chianti next time (yes it’s that good), and without question, there will definitely be a next time!

Excellent service. We had a deep dish Chicago slice, which is nearly a full meal for two. It is so ridiculously over the top tasty! Red sauce is excellent and the crust is… You just have to try it. The crunchy corners are a revelation. Seriously.

Square Pizza is my GO TO in San Diego for authentic east coast style pizza. I’m in San Diego for just 2 days from the east coast and my first thought was “I can’t leave without getting Square Pizza.” I went today and needless to say, was not disappointed!! The owner, Fred, is above and beyond friendly and an absolute genius when is comes to making pizza the right way. The store is extremely clean and very inviting, and also offers beer and wine! Whether visiting this location or their original in Pacific Beach, this pizza cannot be missed!! And in these days, when I have to pay $18 for a burrito, Square offers extremely affordable prices!

We stopped in here for the first time and were blown away by the deep dish pizza! The crust is amazing! The woman working the counter was friendly and helpful. The slices are large and filling. We had pizza with mushrooms and ricotta and it was almost like a delicious lasagna you could eat with your hands. I highly recommend this place!

Tasty, fast, and kind staff. I love that they sell a by the slice option. I also like to roam places in downtown solo and the layout was definitely accommodating for anyone who is sometimes anxious about going somewhere that feels only well-suited for groups, though its perfect for groups too. Lots of fun people and dog watching. I’ll probably come back here for a mid-workday lunch.
