This is one of the nicest Italian places I’ve been to! The food was amazing – had the pasta in vodka sauce shared between two of us and it tasted exquisite. Atmosphere felt like home, with chill music and a thoughtful layout. And the chef personally checked in on how it all was for us. Our waiter Darren was very attentive and accommodating. One of the easiest five star reviews I’ve done in a while!

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this gem on our trip. Its hours weren’t posted yet (3pm to 9pm for dinner, we found out). Then we learned how new this place was! We ordered the fried calamari, which was not rubbery at all and tasted fresh. The batter could have used something extra, maybe lemon, but the aioli and marinara definitely helped. We also got the veal parmigiana with spaghetti – the pasta was al dente and the sauce was light and refreshing. The three cheese tortellini was cheesy and creamy: delicious! They also added extra cheese for us.
I’ll also say the bread and olive oil/balsamic they brought out to start was my favorite. So simple and delicious. We got a tiramisu for mom’s birthday and it tasted totally homemade and fresh. The marscapone mixture was thick and fluffy. They didn’t have their liquor license at the time we went, but they said you could bring your own bottle if you wanted. They should have it in March 2026! I will say this is better to come to with a group of people as they don’t skimp on the portion sizes. If you’re coming by yourself, you better be hungry! The 2 meals and the appetizer and bread was more than enough for 5 people to share (we’re all stuffed).
They also have another spot next door to here where you can get sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, milkshakes, and more!
Donald was a great server – very friendly, and attentive. We also met Jason, the chef, and he was delightful. It’s a family business so support local and enjoy a meal here! I would recommend this spot, for sure.

Absolutely loved my experience here. I feel that Italian food can be hit or miss, but this place!!!!! Man, the food was exceptional, every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. I came with a group of 6 and every persons dish tasted amazing. The service was impeccable from start to finish, our server was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The ambiance was perfect and the decor felt like home yet industrial which is perfect for the location and creates a relaxed yet elevated atmosphere that made the entire evening feel special. Went there before my show at least a hour and half. Although we were seated right away it took 25 minutes to get water. I never been at a italian reaturant where they dont serve any bread. Our waiter Darin.was waiting on a table next to us but never stopped by to ask us are we ready to order or check on us each time.he stopped at the next table. When after 45 minutes we ordered our food we didnt even receive it until 40 minutes before our show was supposed to start. The food was bland no taste at all. I had the shrimp Alfredo and my husband had the crispy chicken alfredo. I got 4 shrimp with pasta with barely any bland sauce. My husband liked the crispy chicken but did say the noodles and sauce.was bland. I did get the meatballs which was ok. The bill was as high as if I got cocktails with my meal which I didnt. I heard Darin greet other guest with the what the specials were but we never were informed of that. I would never go here again
For a place that is so close to the Prudential Center you would think that they would work to getting food out timely and serve better quality tasting food. Dont go here if you want a quick bite before the show you will have better luck spending the high prices at the Prudential Center and maybe make it on time to see your show

Allettante has some of the best Italian food Ive ever tasted. I was here with my friends for a birthday and we were unprepared for how great everything was. This family business has a great ambiance but the highlight was the food. Served family style, the dishes were served to us hot and was so delicious. We even ordered more as we were still eating. The Rigatoni alla vodka with pancetta was my favorite dish , i could eat it every day. An enjoyable place for families and friends 10/10.

Excellent experience. Great food…everything we had from the caprese to the salmon to pastas…the food was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. Shareable portions. Prices were very reasonable. We also had the pleasure of meeting two of the owners Jason (chef) and Donald (one of is two sons) who clearly take pride in everything they do.
This is a much needed addition to the downtown Newark restaurant scene. We will definately go back and recommend ti to others.
