I accidentally found this place a few months ago and it’s been my favorite sushi spot ever since. The fish is always fresh and high quality, and everything tastes amazing. The service is consistently great and the atmosphere is always a vibe. The owner is super friendly and you can tell he’s truly passionate about what he does. Highly recommend!

The service was excellent. The food was enjoyable. The plating had true elegance in its simple, yet beautiful, presentation.
We started at a booth and decided we’d rather sit at the sushi bar and both observe and interact with the sushi chef. They had no problems with us moving. It was quite enjoyable.
We will return to Sushi Ya.

Sushi Ya – Japanese Restaurant is a gem! The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the dining experience truly enjoyable. The sushi chefs were on point, crafting some of the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. The sashimi was fresh and melted in my mouth. The Daniel and Hawaiian Rolls were both standout dishes—flavorful and beautifully presented. This place is perfect for a sushi night out and especially for a romantic date night. Highly recommend!

I can’t speak on the service or atmosphere because I ordered to-go. I ordered two Philly rolls. They had a strong fishy smell, the salmon was chewy and had a plastic taste to it. I did not eat much of it because I’m a little worried I’m going to be sick now. I hate to leave bad reviews but I don’t want anyone getting sick. Hopefully this was a rare fluke for them but I will not be back.

I went to lunch on a Thursday at about 11:30am. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and the service was fast and attentive.
I tried the chicken katsu with curry and the sweety roll. The katsu was crispy, the curry was delicious, and the food from the kitchen was hot and tasty.
The sushi roll was disappointing. It wasn’t super flavorful. It had light drizzle of whatever sauce was supposed to be on it. It is a deep fried roll, but it should have still had some flavor and not just texture.
I will definitely try this place again.

I don’t expect amazing Japanese food in eastern WA. I asked for water and it was never brought I had to get up and ask if I had to get it. People around me got water. I had finished and never got my check and I again had to go to the cashier and pay there. Again the table next to me got their check. Not once did they ask if the food was okay or if I needed anything. Maybe some people have a better experience but service was just bad. Food was okay.

Quite an extensive menu.
My hubby had the chicken yakiudon, it was flavored nicely with sesame & a warm seasoning mixture that was slightly sweet. The noodles were big & round, perfectly done. The chicken is well done. Loved this dish.
My daughter ordered beef teriyaki dinner bento, with a whole california roll. Came with soup. Soup tasted very good. The salad dressing was a ginger, carrot, onion? Tempura was in a thin ,crispy batter with a salty dipping sauce.
I ordered the Paradise roll, had shrimp tempura inside, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese with salmon & tuna on top. Presentation is lovely. I got a side of spicy mayo & eel/ unagi sauce.
Cute little place in a strip mall next to Planet Fitness.in Kennewick. The tables have a natural edge & a shiny lacquer with gold glitter in it. Very quaint & the employees made you feel welcome.
I still have my favorite sushi place though.
