We had pre-paid reservations @ 3 pm for The Sugar Plum Fairy High Tea at the Beverly, Ma location. The woman who seated us seemed bothered that we arrived exactly at 3 pm. Our waitress was pleasant at first, when we asked for clarification on how the reservations worked since this was a new adventure, she was vague and disinterested. The tea selection was extensive & descriptive. The tea was aromatic & delightful. The sandwiches were flavorful & the treats were festive, with some hits & other misses. After an hour, as other patrons exited, so did our waitress. We had to search her out to order more tea (an added charge leads to a higher tip) & we asked about ordering food. She was very curt stating “as long as we were done by 5 pm”, apparently their closing time. We ordered a warm farro salad & a blackberry salad. The blackberry salad was very tasty. Overall, the ambience was quiet & relaxing, the tea flavorful & aromatic, the food was enjoyable and the waitstaff sub-par for what you’re paying for the experience.

Beautiful tea café. I was impressed with the macarons and the Assam tea. The atmosphere is calm, the music isn’t loud, and it’s the perfect place to meet with friends or read your favorite book. The staff is friendly and kind. I love everything about this place. I’ll definitely visit again.

Recently had a Bridal Shower High Tea for my daughter here with 40 guests – overall it was a great experience Everyone had a wonderful time. The pre planning with Courtney went smoothly, she was very accommodating to my requests (food allergies, table setting additions & tea/beverage selections). On the day of the event, our waitress, Gwen & bartender went out of their way to serve the guests and accommodate any needs. The room is bright & airy & the table settings work perfectly for a ‘tea vibe’. The food was tasty, presented on tiered trays & was enjoyed by all. I would recommend Jolie for a group event or stop in on your own to enjoy the experience.

Went here with a group of girls for teas and yapping. We went because the book we read for bookclub was based on such setting so we wanted to celebrate because when is girl time ever a bad idea? We all got dressed up in theme. We had made a reservation weeks before and they do charge you the full amount a few days prior. Each person gets their own individual tea pot. You get to choose from a wide variety of flavors. For the food, you get a choice of cucumber tea sandwich, salmon gougere, smoked duck gougere, mini ham and brie, lemon scone, vanilla madeleine, french macarons, and a delicious pastry swan. Everything was delicious. We were 12 received 3 setups like this. There were some dietary restrictions that were honored. Overall it was very quiet in there, felt like we had the space to ourselves so it was very nice. I was extra happy about the availability of free street parking (it was a Sunday).

Interesting experience. Never would have expected a ” High Tea” to be like a service at such a casual setting.
Was unexpected.
Pleasant enough though. Atmosphere was pleasantly lighthearted and definitely not formal. Totally casual attire and not what a typical high tea usually entails.
Host was pleasant. Table was nicely set with lovely bone china tea” mugs”. Very pretty and springy themed. Each person was presented w thier owl little jars of jam and honey… also interesting, keeping w the informality theme.
Tea’s were very good. We tried the Jackie Kennedy , pixie dust and La Bella Rose. All very light and tasty. Apt description to the flavor profiles.
Tea sandwiches were very tasty. Tge duck was absolutely the best of them all. Extremely flavorful. Madelline’s and scones were definitely one of the highlights. Macaroons were a little dense and a bit over sweet. The cream puffed swans were adorably delightful. Vanilla whipped cream was tasty and perfectly balanced; not too sweet.
Was overall a pleasant experience. So if you’re looking for a very informal High Tea type experience in a very casual setting and atmosphere, definitely a place to try.
Personally I think if I was in area again, I’d probably get a pot of tea, an actual full sandwich ( they have a great menu selection) maybe some madelline’s and call it a success!
FYI: if not from area( we were not) parking can be difficult to find. Street parking or side street seemed only options available. No parking lot. Also it’s paid parking past 20 minutes… so another thing to consider…

My family and I held a celebration of life for my late mother who absolutely adored high-tea. I cannot say enough great things about this place: The staff were so attentive, friendly and accommodating. They could almost read our minds when we needed something, but gave us privacy when we were sharing memories of my mother. The tea room was clean, organized and looked phenomenal. The food and tea was of top quality-we got many compliments from our guests. Thanks again for giving us a great experience!

I came in for lunch, tea, and cake. The food was good. But I noticed this location does require you to ask for waitressing service. We were told to order at the counter but all other patrons got a waitress. In addition they did not provide silverware without asking. The girl at the front said we had to ask for a waitress if we didn’t want to order at the counter. This is the first time I’ve had to request service so that is different.
I suggest if you want the high Tea, be sure to ask for the service and not order at the counter.
I live near by but the Salem location gives better service.

Cute ambiance BUT $223 is too expensive! This is for FOUR Madeline high tea which included 1 tower shown in picture. We also were served 2 pots of tea instead of 4. One person in our group couldn’t make it so one of each item on tower was packaged to go. One pot of tea was subbed for a latte and they couldn’t package any tea to go which i don’t think was compensated. The two different dates reflect the deposit that was made for reserving online and then the rest of the bill was paid in house.
