Fabulous restaurant in Edinburgh’s West end. A tudor style building decorated in lights set the tone. Upstairs to the first floor, lovely staff who were just the right amount of attentive. I had Pigeon breast for starters, followed by the steak. I asked for medium rare and it was near perfect. Big, fat chips as well. My wife had lamb, children, Salmon and chicken. All agreed it was delicious. Highly recommended. The red wine from Argentina was excellent as well.

We had the best steak at La P’tite folie Restaurant this evening, and it was an unforgettable experience! The steak was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Paired with a crisp white wine, it was the ideal combination. The wine complemented the richness of the steak beautifully, and every bite was pure satisfaction.
The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. If you’re a steak lover, this place is a must-visit. Mike the manager was very good and professional, keep it up!. Can’t wait to return!

Really grand upstairs with a wonderful corner table. Ceilings are so tall and makes it so comfortable. Portions are really generous. You won’t go hungry!

I used to come here years ago when I lived in Edinburgh, and am delighted that the quality hasn’t declined at all. The food is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of ingredients and cooking. The restaurant is a beautiful place to be, and the service was attentive. One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.

On 5th July 2025, After voting overseas for House of Councillors members at the Consulate-General of Japan in Edinburgh, I had lunch with my wife at this restaurant. All staff were very kind. Our ordered lunch course cuisines were also very good. This restaurant was very comfortable. Am looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!

I’ve been here a few times and every time it’s been so lovely! Bright & cosy decor, 2 course lunch is such a great value and very tasty. I particularly enjoyed hake with lemongrass & coconut. Everything was cooked so well…fish was so moist, delightful sauce, not too light or heavy, just perfect. Plus veg with a nice crunch & buttery mash. We were so full after mains but couldn’t resist creme brûlée… It was the perfect dessert to finish. The place was busy, but the service was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend ✨

Had an excellent dinner at La petite Folie. French onion soup and mussels were very tasty. Our mains, steak, salmon and halibut were all excellent and generous meals. Highly recommend eating here. It’s a definite return on my next trip to Edinburgh

Finally got to have a meal in this restaurant after saying we must do so, for five years.

It’s not awful, it’s just a bit odd and uninspiring. Downstairs looks beautiful, upstairs looks tired. Tables crammed it. Food – large portions but just rather uninspiring.

It’s OK but we won’t be rushing back.

Excellent French cuisine with a modern twist. They do a delicious Christmas menu of 3 dishes for a little over 20 pounds and it is so worth it. The building itself is lovely, so definitely a place to come back on a special occasion

A large group of us had a celebratory lunch at La P’tite Folie on Saturday. The advance organisation of the lunch was simple, the service was excellent and the food was delicious – in particular we enjoyed the Shetland mussels starter and the sole main course. Wines were reasonably priced for the quality. Thank you for making my birthday meal extra special!
