I really don’t get the positive reviews. This is the third time we have tried coming here and they’re finally open. We love food from Chicago so we were really excited. The owner was not friendly at all. We were supposed to get 2 orders of fries but he only gave us one and we were too nervous to correct him because he wasn’t friendly. The fries were pretty gross and soggy anyway. The hotdog was good. The pizza puff was really nasty. It was like a glorified hot pocket with unidentifiable filling. He doesn’t start serving Italian beef sandwiches until 1pm. That is his most wanted menu item, yet he serves it after peak lunch hour.

Definitely returning to try more (probably that Citi Burger!). Went safe with a toddler in tow – Had and cheese puff and fries. One word: YUM! The fries have a sweet heat sauce And seasoning which I loved. Might be a little too spicy for the kids or anyone with a low tolerance to spice, so just ask for plain! Everything is cooked to order so don’t expect fast food.

When you go to the counter you are hit with the aroma so delicious your mouth starts watering. You then are greeted by one of the most friendly and cheerful staff I have ever met. I noticed I had trouble ordering due to my mouth dripping. We ordered the Reuben and taco puffs and a side of wings. First these wings are no joke. You don’t get a wing flat or a drum you get…..the whole wing!!!! The wings were juicy, I mean dripping with moisture and the sauce OMG. They should sell this stuff, it was tangy with mild heat. The fries were hand cut, WHAT who does that? The food was made from scratch. I could taste the cumin and chilies in the taco puffs. The Reuben was the best I have eaten. Being a former executive chef I can appreciate the freshness and flavorful dishes they have created. The only negative thang I can say is I did not have room to try everything they have, but I will be back!

I had an amazing experience at Dem City Thangz! I ordered the Citi Wings with fries and a Faygo Red Pop, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and packed with flavor—while the fries were fresh, hot, and seasoned just right.
On top of the great food, the customer service was top-tier. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed. It’s rare to find a place that gets both the food and service just right, but Dem City Thangz does it effortlessly.
10/10 experience—I’ll definitely be back! If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

I have never left a bad review. And this one isn’t too bad, but I dont know how else to communicate with the restaurant. I went there today, from the Comicon/Toycom at Chapel Hills. I first went to get myself and my husband a “puff” and fries/tots. My husband loves this place. Got back to the con to eat, they’d given me a breakfast puff instead of the spinach, cheese Italian puff. So I walked back there to exchange it. Didn’t mind at all. I was told that orders are “made to irder” so I figured this mistake couldn’t happen twice. Second time, it was another breakfast puff. If its made to order, how is that possible? I couldn’t walk back a 3rd time. My body wouldn’t allow it. But I couldn’t eat it either. I couldn’t even eat the fries because they were undercooked.
These people were super nice.(hence the 3 stars instead of 1.) I’m sure this is an unusual occurrence. But I do wish they’d stop claiming they are “making it to order.” Obviously that’s not true.
