Have been here twice. Not a large food selection, however for what they have, it’s different from your ordinary hamburgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches you find around the park.
Food: We first tried the Chicken Pot Pie (forgot to take a pic). It was delicious. Chicken, creamy sauce, and veggies are poured over a phyllo-like pastry. Yum. Second time I got a Sloppy Joe which had just enough spice, but not overdone. It’s not saucy like the original Sloppy Joe, but it was good. Husband had the Smash burger. He said it was the best hamburger in Yellowstone.
Drinks: Got a Long Island Iced Tea. Had a headache the next day which usually indicates that top shelf alcohol wasn’t used. My fault. I should have ordered something I knew had a particular alcohol in it. Second visit we tried the beer flight with the first four beers listed on their menu. My favorite was the Huckleberry Wheat Beer. The 307 Lager is nice and light. The Roaring Pika Amber Ale was a little bitter. If you like the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy or Grapefruit Shandy, you’ll like the Shady NE IPA.
Service: Crystal and Drennan did a great job taking our orders and bringing our food. Like any other restaurant or lounge, depending how busy it is, you may get fast or slow service at first. Food came out in a timely manner on both visits.
Atmosphere: This lounge is located at the very end of the building. Would feel more like a lounge if they placed a wall between the lounge area and the rest of the the building. Many people try to bring their food over to this location, but there are signs on the tables to indicate that this area is only for those using the lounge.
We will probably come back one more time before we leave Yellowstone.

We were staying at Canyon Lodge so decided to go try a flight of beer from regional breweries. The views from the bar are good…and the atmosphere is cozy.

Better than the rest of the cafeteria next to it but still not great quality. Very limited menu of mostly fried food since they were only serving appetizers. I ordered the wings without the sauce and they were crispy and tasted good. I did not like the bbq sauce or the ranch. The pretzels and cheese were okay, the cheese had no flavor, tasted like melted velveeta. The waffle fries were decent but not very hot. We waited a very long time for our food and it was pretty pricey.

09/03/2025. Been at this lodge for a couple days. Due to unbelievable great weather the place is much busier than expected. This has clearly affected the situation for the sit down restaurant. Summer staff gone. The 2 remaining wait staff are incredible. The are patient and respectful, despite being completely overwhelmed. The 2 bartenders also were more than able to hold their own and keep smiles on their faces. Small selection of entrees but we were a party of 6 and decided to just get 4 of the 5 appetizers and share. It was delicious.

This was basically a large cheap motel charging $700/night (no typo) because it is located inside Yellowstone National Park.
What made it worse was that the total amount was deducted from our bank account one week BEFORE we arrived. We then got agreement from the front desk to leave two days early but the make it very difficult to obtain a refund, e.g. “your payment was withdrawn by ‘Central Accounting’, we don’t deal with them directly” with the result that we are still waiting for the refund agreed with the front desk, 10 days AFTER we left.
Oh, and the food was substandard.
Yellowstone was great. But, IMO, Canyon Lodge was horrible.

This review is for the lounge — not the Canyon Lodge food service as a whole.
DRINKS: Pricey but okay. Nothing particularly special.
FOOD: A limited selection of bar snacks and nibbles, also very pricey — such as a bowl of onion dip, a large handful of bog standard potato chips, for $12.
Note — some folk seemed to grab food from the cafeteria area and bring it over to the seats here. According to the signs, the tables were just for lounge diners. Made the atmosphere more chaotic than it needed to be.
SERVICE: Friendly and present when needed, but a bit harried.
AMBIANCE: The lounge is done up in some nice googie architecture to go with the redesign of the overall Canyon Lodge. Despite that, it felt overcrowded and a bit ramshackle.
Unfortunately, in Yellowstone (and with the weird hours of all the dining establishments at the Canyon complex), there isn’t much else of a choice if you want to grab a drink. Not inclined to go back, though, during our visit.

Don’t let the name “lounge” fool you. It is adjacent to the buffet food area, and more like a cafeteria ambiance. High top tables are communal, since they all seat 6 and not much seating. Not much food selection (light appetizers), but if you get the wings, they are very meaty! Not a lot of space to sit, and the bar servers aren’t very quick… The beer was cold though;)

This is the best place to eat/drink in canyon village. The bartenders are great. I loved my Shirley temple and pretzel sticks, they were excellent. Nice little lounge area where you can look out at the trees.

Every table was covered with dirty dishes, I had my daughter clear a table for us. The bartender was nice and prompt. Food was not good. I saw 3 staff near the side of the bar near the tables but only 1 was actually bussing tables. Very disappointed. It looks like many of the restaurants in the park were understaffed.
