Awesome lake view, cold beer, terrific cocktails! Had the marinated steak tips which exceeded my expectations. Did I mention they have friendliest staff around? Worth the wait & we will be back!

We decided to go here for an early dinner. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table. Once we were seated we received drinks quickly but it took another 20 minutes before we could order. Once we did order food was not delivered for another hour and 10 minutes. We had service staff constantly telling us it would be just a few more minutes. We I received my meal which was a shrimp po boy. The shrimp was way overdone and cold. We were all unimpressed with the food quality. Not the best experience poorly prepared overpriced food.

You can’t find too many places that have good service, great prices, really tasty food, plus an outstanding View, but here we are. The restaurant, Bear Creek Marina, served up everything in spades, and I look forward to returning with friends and family.

After going to the Emerald Village, the whole family was hangry. I Google a place to eat nearby on the way down the mountain. I saw a lot of potential places, but they were all closed or closing within the hour since it is Sunday.
By the time my cell service stabilized, I found the listing for Bear Creek Marina & restaurant. We quickly set the destination into the GPS and went through new winding roads until we arrived at this amazing river front establishment.
We sat on the patio bar and ordered our food. Our waitress was kind but unattentive. We received water from a passing waitress and additional sauces from the food runner. Everyone was nice enough, but we had to ask the passing waitress (that brought us a pitcher of water) to hunt down our waitress for additional items to our order.
I asked for fried shrimp but received grilled. We had a bit of a wait for our food and the waitress had disappeared (even with all of our waters drained) so I didn’t send it back, I just ate it. I probably needed at least *one thing* on my plate *not* deep fried, anyway.
The food was delicious. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered. For the price, the serving portions are good. I saw a lot of smiling faces around the patio. It felt like our service issue was an isolated case.

This was our selection to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The drive was a little over one hour from our home and it was worth the trip.
The host was able to seat us very promptly and with an outside table sporting an umbrella and fantastic views of lake James.
Our waitress brought table settings and menues while taking drink orders.
She was very kind to all of us and very attentive during our meal.
Serving sizes I thought were very good. Our son had a shrimp meal with sides and if I recall he said there were 12 or 14 shrimp. My fried flounder meal had four good sized filets (the menu indicated only 2) each was nicely cooked and not oily at all. The green bean side almost tasted as if they were grilled, very nice touch. The sweet tea had just a bit more sugar than what I use, but very refreshing.
Great marina and boaters atmosphere. There is live music although not while we visited.
I would make another visit to the Bear Creek Marina it is thumbs up.

We stopped by Bear Creek marina on a weekend camping trip to Lake James State Park. The staff was friendly and inviting the food was delicious. We had the buffalo chicken pizza which I highly recommend. Our server Alexis did an awesome job and checked in on us regularly. At one point the manager came over with a smile to make sure everything was great – and it was. We were able to pull our boat up to the dock behind the restaurant, and there was plenty of space. Even though there was a decent crowd we did not have to wait to get a table, and our food came right out. I think a lot of reviews on this restaurant are old because there were servers buzzing around all over and smiles on faces everywhere. I highly recommend stopping by Bear Creek Marina and Restaurant if you are in the local area , it was a five-star experience.

We got there at 1:30 pm on Sunday. It only got more crowded. Salmon was good not too dry. Cheesesteak was excellent with pepper-jack. Shaded areas were cool and comfortable direct sun not so much. Owner was sitting at the bar chatting. Guy singing was talented and a good volume to be able to talk.

This is the third time I’ve tried to go to this Bear Creek Marina restaurant they always seem to be customer service for they should also deliver to the boats.
All they had were hot dogs plane with nothing on them and they were only taking cash I guess I figure if you’re supposed to be open and people boating planned their day around it and you just completely closed or have nothing. And there’s no other place to get a good dinner or lunch at.
Have to be able to rely on a business.

Great deck bar overlooking Lake James with live music. The food is good and the atmosphere is even better. Dock your boat and grab a bite! I hope pizza is back on the menu soon! The pizza is delicious, and the crab balls are really tastey.

We love the Bear Creek Marina. My family stay in the campground on weekends and enjoy hanging out with all the staff! The environment, food, staff, and drinks are all top notch. We recommend this place 100%! Karaoke and bands every weekend. Sam and Jennifer behind the bar are the best! All servers doing a fantastic job as well!
