I recently had brunch at The Egg in the CWE, and I went in with no real expectations. I left realizing what a fantastic addition this spot is to the neighborhood. Our meal was outstanding from start to finish, and the staff was incredibly accommodating to our requests, which made the experience even better.
I’ve always been a fan of Bar Italia, and now I can confidently say I’m a fan of The Egg at Bar Italia as well. If you’re looking for a great brunch spot in the CWE, make a point to check it out. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

Great Vibe at Bar Italia!
We stopped by Bar Italia just for a quick drink after dinner in the area — but ended up staying for several hours! The bartender and the owner were incredibly nice and welcoming. Their great customer service and friendly energy made it hard to leave. We only planned for one drink, but the vibe kept us there.
Definitely coming back to try the food next time. Thanks for the warm hospitality!

Awful service!! Excessive wait time for entrees to the table and food served mildly warm. It was obvious our entrees sat for too long. Our waiter (he) was more interested in socializing with people at the bar than attending to our table. There were other issues with poor service and including unfriendly woman that sat us. No one ever apologized for the multiple poor service issues that occurred. I will never go back!

Had a fantastic night coming to eat here! My server was Jason and he was amazing, very attentive, friendly, and always having a smile on his face. His attitude towards his customers and co-workers are admirable!The music was slow and calm while the food was tasty and rich in flavor. Would recommend! Love it!

Wonderful place for dinner as always. But so excited for their sister restaurant, Egg, to be serving brunch on the weekends. Outstanding, fresh squeezed juice for our cocktails and the food was perfect!

DestiniM was our server, she did her job and nothing more…..almost felt by the end of dinner that we were bothering her (we asked for nothing all night). So, food was good, location was fun, and not sure I’ll be returning. The food was good, nothing outstanding……just good. I’d certainly pass on the bruschetta…..it was not worth it. The beef medallions were cooked well, the mashed potatoes were OK and the stalk of broccoli and cauliflower were a statement .

I was seated for about 10 minutes before a server ever came over. And I had “that” look of hello? Anyone? I need a cocktail! Not sure if he was waiting for my companion to arrive or what. I also had to get up twice to find him. Great location, and the interior is fine. We sat at a window table, which was lovely, but the acoustics were such that we could barely hear our server telling us about the specials, but could very clearly hear the conversation of the people at the next table.
But the food…excellent! I got the Beef Tenderloin, ordered mid-rare+, and cooked perfectly over a wood fired grill. It was seriously SO delicious! As were the mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It came with a demi Glace that I’d ask for on the side, next time. It was yummy, but my asparagus was swimming in it. My friend got the tortellini in cream sauce, and it was also very good. I finished with an espresso martini (which they are known for) and tiramisu. Chefs kiss! I’ll definitely be back! (I also got the sea scallops and paparadelle to go. I tried a little bite and yum!)

We recommend Bar Italia for a lighter meal than on “The Hill”fare that can tend to be lavish portions and more than we can eat. The penne pasta with three mushrooms was simply deliciousand the other order of fettuccine with sausage was also excellent and well-portioned.We will return.

We sat on the patio since it was such a pleasant evening. The bruschetta with tomatoes, artichoke and topped with cheese was delicious. Our entree’s were equally on par. Coupled with the impeccable service it was a perfect date night.
