Lil Gen’s is a small shack located in the cruise-line tourist area of Hoonah. Despite a rainy day, the spot was bustling with visitors. The line was long but moved quickly, thanks to the efficient setup. It’s a fun, casual stop perfect for a quick treat while exploring.

The staff were friendly and worked quickly to serve the crowd. Even with the high traffic, everything was handled smoothly. A nice touch—there’s a military discount available, and proceeds go to the local Salvation Army to help support the village, which makes your purchase feel even more worthwhile.

The mini donuts are served hot and fresh, available in half-dozen or dozen portions with lots of flavor choices. We tried the blueberry flavor, and they were soft, warm, and absolutely delicious. When you order a dozen, you can choose two flavors. They also sell a small selection of drinks like Coke, Coke Zero, bottled water, hot chocolate, and coffee.

Absolutely delicious! These little doughnuts come in a variety of flavours. We tried huckleberry and cinnamon and ate them in 2 minutes. The waitress was very friendly.

Definitely worth the wait in line! We tried the Maple, Powdered Sugar, Cinnamon, and Chocolate flavors. I’d probably stay away from the Chocolate, but all the others were fantastic. If we were to go back, I’d just keep it simple and stick with the Powdered Sugar.

If you go to Icy Strait Point (Hoonah, Alaska), this is a must have!
They have 34 flavors and you get to choose 2 flavors for every dozen you buy. I wish we had bought about 10 dozen.
We went with Mounds and bacon/maple.
They make the donuts and then put the topoings/flavor of your choice on them. So when you get them they are still warm. This blows Krispi Kreme out of the water. If I lived here, they would be my breakfast every morning. Just thonk.. you could go 34 days without eating the same flavor.
You will stand in line, but they are beyond worth it!

Worth the long (but fast moving) line! Donuts were fresh and super tasty after a rainy hike! The workers were so friendly and sweet. We enjoyed a half dozen of the birthday cake and a half dozen of the raspberry donuts. They are about the size of donut holes so splitting a dozen between the two of us was the perfect warm snack after our hike along with a cup of hot cocoa!

They said the smallest amount they could sell us was 6. Then they showed us the size and I understood. They’d be good with a good cup of coffee, the problem here was the coffee, wasn’t top notch, just kinda standard. Many donut flavors to try, we did chocolate and blueberry. Enjoyed

This is a cute little shack off towards the back of the cannery. The employees are super friendly and happy to answer questions.
I would recommend a half dozen per person. My wife and I each got a dozen and it was too much for us. If you get a dozen you can get two flavors.
We got the Chocolate Espresso, the Chocolate Salted Caramel, the powdered sugar, and the regular Chocolate.
All of them were nice but I enjoyed the Espresso the most.
Also, I’m not sure if it was an accident but they included a half dozen of Fruit Loop but we didn’t notice til we left.
